This little program looks for photos on flickr by a given search word. Afterwards, the colors of the photos are analyzed. The color itself gets detected and how often each color is found. This data is the foundation of every stem. Each segment represents one color of the photo, the diameter shows the quantity. The cell resolution in all segments is based on the brightness of the color.

On Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, along with its partner The Maryland Space Business Roundtable, invited approximately 60 Prince George’s County high school girls, ages 16 to 17, and their chaperones to its first-ever “STEM Girls Night In” sleepover. The event aimed to reinvigorate, inspire and engage high school girls who may be struggling with, or are not fully engaged in, STEM education.

Activities included competitions and challenges, a telescope stargazing party, a scavenger hunt, speed networking, movie night and more.

This was a floral arrangement in the making! There were so many beautiful wild flowers along the road in Tennessee. We have nothing like this in my end of the world, so to me it was fascinating.

Rushes are monocots that live in wetlands such as bogs and marshes, and in damp woodlands. This section shows part of a stem of a Rush (Juncus sp.). Plants that are adapted to live in water or wet conditions are known as hydrophytes.

The stem is hollow and contains star-shaped (stellate) cells in a tissue called aerenchyma. The abundant air spaces in aerenchyma allow air to reach the root systems, which are usually submerged in waterlogged soil.

The stem is photosynthetic, with palisade tissue underneath the epidermis, interspersed with groups of fibres (red). Below this cortex are the scattered vascular bundles typical of a monocot.

The diameter of the large vascular bundle is about 170 µm.

The perennating organs of the Potato (Solanum tuberosum) are underground tubers, which are swollen stems acting as food stores. Originally from the lower Andes in South America, this plant has been exploited in Europe as a food source since the 15th Century, owing to the high starch content and good keeping qualities of the tubers.

This image shows part of a plant dug up to expose underground stems with swollen tips – the immature tubers. Part of the main root system of the plant can also be seen.

The largest tuber is approximately 2 cm across.

"Composition must be one of our constant preoccupations, but at the moment of shooting it can stem only from our intuition, for we are out to capture the fugitive moment, and all the interrelationships involved are on the move."

Crystal Brockington and Aaron Barron, both 18 years old, designed a more efficient and cost effective solar cell that harnesses energy without cadmium, which has been shown to be harmful to the environment. They were selected to participate in the White House Science Fair after they were awarded the High School Grand Prize at the Siemens We Can Change the World Challenge. The fourth White House Science Fair was held at the White House on May 27, 2014 and included 100 students from more than 30 different states who competed in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) competitions. AIO Premium Cellular Health (AIO) is a product developed by Ceres Living, Inc. in conjunction with a leading nutritional laboratory and NeoStem, a leading adult stem cell collection and research company.

AIO was developed from the studies that state certain Nutraceuticals optimize stem cell functions. In the nutrition industry, much has been focused on fighting oxidative stress with little efforts towards cell repair, once oxidative stress has been fought.

AIO Premium Cellular Health completed the effort by creating a nutritional supplement that we believe fights oxidative stress and optimizes stem cell functions. The supplement is blended into an all natural fruit puree that tastes delicious.

Now with AC-11, DNA Supplement

AIO Premium Cellular Health is a nutritional innovation that combines the best of nature and science to optimize cellular health. This unique, proprietary formula is delicious, powerful and concentrated. Only one to four ounces each day provides a concentrated source of nutrients, antioxidants and phytonutrients.

AIO harnesses the power of nature in its purest form and the breakthroughs in scientific discovery. AIO helps to nourish the healing and restorative nature of our bodies. AIO can help to protect the cardiovascular system, support immune functions and optimize adult stem cell functions. Plus, it's fast acting and great tasting!

AIO is abundantly filled with super fruits like Acai, Pomegranate, Blueberry Acerola, Amla, Camu Camu and Dark Cherry. Each ounce provides 13,830 mg of whole fruit. This delicious, all natural fruit puree is rich in potent antioxidants, which scientific studies suggest fight free radicals and prevent oxidative stress, thereby providing healthy immune system defense support. AIO has been specially formulated to increase bioavailability so that it is easy for your body to assimilate.

AIO is also filled with anti-aging and cellular breakthroughs like Resveratrol, along with Vitamin D3 and Niacin amongst others. This proprietary blend of anti-aging breakthroughs is designed and believed to optimize stem cell functions.
