Tret has a long history in the music business. She got her start as guitar player for the Spencer Davis Group. Her first solo album was produced by the late greatLowell George of the band Little Feat. She just release a new solo CD, which I think is one of the finest of her career.

yesterday i went on another photo field trip. i had a GREAT time!! The Eastern Market is such a great part of Detroit. Ever since I moved here 8 years ago, it has been one of my most favorite places to visit, particularly on a Saturday morning. The crowds are exhilarating, diverse and fun, the vendors are animated and always bargaining, the produce is fresh and the scenery is amazing. I could easily have spent the entire day there, just soaking it up. Once again, I used up both of my memory cards taking incredible shots at this incredible site. For any out of towners, I highly recommend you add this to your itinerary if and when you visit. Any local peeps, get your butt down there if you haven't yet. It's a photographer's mecca. Enjoy... (don't know how many i'll upload here, but i have a gazillion shots once again!!)

Compared to the Michael Kors sweater, this one grows like a weed. Knitting in the round really *does* cut down on your time. :)
The broken lines between the right side of the steek lines and the rest of the cardie are due to my not knowing what the hell I was doing (as witnessed by the steek lines closest to the rib). I didn't realize what I'd done until the fourth pattern repeat, and nearly shrieked at the thought of having to rip all that work back. Fortunately, my left brain prevailed, and I plotted out how the edges would look after the steek has been cut and the edges tacked back, prior to picking up stitches for the buttonband. As counterintuitive as it seems, the pattern on each side of the steek *does* match the other side -- or at least it will, post-steeking. Whew.
For the knitterinae: Pattern is the Kauni Rainbow Cardigan by Ruth Sørensen (available as a free download online), knitted on a 3.25mm (US3) Addi Turbo lace needle. (The narrow points help a lot.) Yarn is Kauni 8/2 wool in the EQ colorway.
