View large. These images were taken at Orlando's Gatorland, at sunrise, in the rookery that develops wherever gators float under trees. The birds are not captive and tolerate humans in close quarters, hence the extreme closeups. Photographers get access early before all the hoopla begins.

Do you ever get the feeling you're being stared at, that's exactly what this female blue jay was doing. She stared at me for a while, tilting her head every once and a while perhaps to get a better view, then as straight as an arrow, flew to the ground.

Cows are actually fairly uncommon in Thailand but the ones that are here generally have these very large ears. This particular one seems to be very interested in me...
