A highly manoeuvrable starfighter, SHOK|AAHN ('Crescent Moon' in Xylian) is used by the Xylian Defence Fleet for intercept duties against raiders and smuggling operations.

Armed with two pulse disruptors, SHOK|AAHN also carries twin pivoting projectile cannon for close combat. The new enhanced ion engine sports vector-thrust nozzles for a blend of agility and speed unmatched throughout the Twelve Worlds.

Hello,

"New" starfighter

I was dismantling this starfighter , the Platypus

then freestyle built a "new" fighter with the parts

The idea of the curves for the design , bending the plates , came by accident

So much for a build every month. Orange is a bit of a pain to work with, but I think this turned out really well. The slopes on the wings are regretfully gappy, but what are you going to do. This is probably my most complete space ship ever, with even a pretty good looking underside.

Lol realized I'd left nearest neighbor resizing on in PS. Replaced the old image with one a little clearer.

The interceptor from Proxyon Industries is one of the most effective strikecraft in the royal fleet.

For optimal maneuverability, it boasts low moments of inertia along all axes and a fully diagonal inertia tensor.

For pitch and yaw control, it has been outfitted with three reaction wheels (of which one is allowed to fail).

For roll, lateral movement and desaturating the reaction wheels, 12 small RCS thrusters have been fitted.

The pilot is situated extremely close to the center of gravity of the craft to make sure the interceptor can rotate quickly without putting strain on the pilot due to centripetal forces.

Lastly, linear acceleration is accomplished by means of three standard Solovyov rocket engines.

The interceptor comes equipped with three auto-targeting small caliber rotary-autocannons, loaded with thermite rounds. These can be used both offensively and to target incoming missiles.

The placement and range of movement of these armaments provide full cover around the entire craft, no blind spots.

When a target is detected, at least two of the autocannons will be able to fire immediately, and depending on the situation, the interceptor will make slight attitude adjustments to be able to use the third autocannon as well.

Competitors might call these armaments flimsy, but thanks to the low momentum of the lighter rounds and high rate of fire, these weapons only cause a small, almost continuous thrust when firing, which is easily compensated for by the RCS thrusters. This in turn makes the interceptor very smooth and predictable to fly, even when in combat.

Applying engineering knowledge to lego models is quite fun.

The Ashuras were colonised by the Andromedan empire 400 years ago when they barely started to create flying vehicles. They are an amphibian warrior race using the bio-metallic skeletons of the creatures from Tensei their native planet to create various tools.

Scarabee are made using metallic giant beetle shell. They are heavily armored and equipped with two dual railguns and a set of acid bombs.

All the ships I expected to take to BW are done. I even put Herb together to come with me. What do you think? Enough time for one more?

Contest Announcement

Almost 10 years ago the Lego Star Wars fan site From Brick to Bothans ran the first alphabet starfighter contest. A little over a year ago, my 4 year old son and I started making our own alphabet starfighters inspired by that contest. As a thank you for all the support I've received and to celebrate finishing all 26 letters I'm having my own contest!

To enter all you have to do is build (out of Lego) OR draw your own original spaceship which has a design based on a letter of the alphabet. Post your design online and be sure to include the hashtag #abcstarfightercontest and my handle @davekaleta in the description. I will be reposting all the entries to my Instagram stories (with proper credit of course!) The contest will run from March 18th to May 9th.

Ten random entires will receive a free 1st edition poster of all 26 ships (approximate size 18" x 24") signed and numbered to 100. Additionally, a judging panel made up of my wife, my son and myself will pick the three entries we like best to also receive a free poster. You will need to provide a shipping address in order to be eligible to receive the prize.

Happy creating!

P.S. Teachers (like me) who are looking for ideas are welcome to submit the designs of their students!

Part 43 of 52 of my 'Build-a-MOC-a-Week' project for 2021.

There's something about to go sour with this deal ;)

Another SW creation. had this done for a longer while, but never had 3 of those 2x2 cones.

YoU HAPPY NOW, KIT?

Also, this is actually about minifig scale, maybe a stud too small, but eh, whatever.

I wish I could get all those lbg pieces chromed...

A quick one hour throw-together, some areas are really unfinished. I'm really regretting adding the massive exhaust nozzle; I reckon she would look cool the tail tapering down into a point instead. Also, gimbal-mounted lasers!!

I also posted a build-up video showing assembly of the major subsections.

Part 43 of 52 of my 'Build-a-MOC-a-Week' project for 2021.

Hello,

First of a serie of 3 starfighters I've build this month

This one is an old concept (again) I wanted to develop , inspired by Ikaruga , the idea is just integrating sword(s) in the design of a starfighter

So I named this serie Swordfighter !!

First try was during nnovvember with the vikaruga

www.flickr.com/photos/fabz71/22210062674/in/album-7215765...

This was a mix between a VV and Ikaruga ship

I've lot of ideas to come.....

Oh , for those who don't know, I've also build the Ikaruga , this was in 2013

www.flickr.com/photos/fabz71/albums/72157635497386699

I promise I'm almost done with these haha...

The Bruiser is known for having a mobile weapons system, which makes this starfighter a challenge for even advanced pilots.

Over the last week or so I have been modifying the Cygnus starfighter. Looking back, it was reminiscent of a flying stalk of cauliflower... meh. I was never pleased with the front portion, but I am pretty pumped with it now... and with any good make-over, it deserved to get a rename too. Enjoy.

Winter time ist night flying time to train the pilots night flying skills.

First look at Mando's N-1, finally built in bricks. I designed the first version of this back in February, after some convos about the hickups and pet peeves folks had with designs out at the time, revisited it in August, before I was happy with it and decided to blow a considerable amount of dinero on parts to build it physically, plus the Beskar Mando minifig.

Feel free to let me know what you think!

More angles, details & building instructions are available here: reb.li/m/121386

I might make a review/showcase vid on it in the foreseeable future.

This is my entry for the Star Wars X Building Contest over at www.fbtb.net. The starfighter is modeled to resemble the letter Enth in the Aurek-Besh alphabet.

Thanks ted @ndes for your helpful comments and pushing me to tighten things up.

This Vessel is made for the exploration of the Universe, after the Great Robots had been deactivated. It can support a Toa for thousands of years if it goes on a long Space journey.

However it's not optimal but it can be used in space Fights, by letting theusers Mask/Elemental powers channel trough itself.

If you'd expected anything from The Force Awakens, too bad! I really felt making some Star Wars Rebel Alliance fighters, since there's a lack of them in the seventh movie. Here are a mini BTL Y-wing starfighter and RZ-1 A-wing interceptor, ready to blast those imperials!

Hello,

So here's the latest starfighter I've built.

Freestyle build around the big canon

I also tried to find some unsual color combo. (dark brown , blue , dark orange , and some grey of course)

A bit of einhander design I guess

Finally finished this after having it collect dust on my desk for over a year.

The name is taken from a model by Games Workshop:

www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Necron-Doom-Scythe

And the canopy is taken from a model by Legohaulic:

Although not very fast CHRYSALIDEs are extremely tough starfighters. The amount of damage they can endure is unmatched in the andromedan starfighter assortment. Equipped with two plasma lance cannons, they are often use as defense for capital ships.

This is my first large starfighter, I started building this for the "show us what you've got" contest on the Starfighter group, but couldn't find a way to finish off the sides. I wanted some heavier armament there, but nah.

It's got a couple of railguns and four mini-rocket launchers that launch at an angle forward to the flight path.

A stealth fighter with both atmospheric and space capabilities.

Lot of fun building this one. It has been on my desk for quite some timeand finally got to take pictures. hope you like it :)

Admittedly, I haven’t watched an awful lot of the Resistance TV show. TROS left me with a slightly bitter taste in my mouth so I’m a bit reluctant to pick up where I left off.

One thing that does attract me to the series (and something that was absent from the TROS) is the innovative and exciting ship designs which really push the envelope in terms of the Star Wars aesthetic.

Looking for inspiration for my next build I came across a piece of concept art for a pirate starfighter that was cobbled together from a number of old OT vehicles. I was keen to try my hand at building the TIE fighter wing and exercise my skills in greebling with the exposed engine details. I think I still need to practice my weathering skills but I’m not unhappy with the result.

Falchion is my contribution to the CIRCorp round of the Starfighter Telephone Game. It follows (the superb) Backblast from uspez, and now completes the full circle back to halfbeak.

I also made a high-speed construction video here on Flickr or here on YouTube, and a build walkthrough video with commentary at youtu.be/l8j_Tbu-EF4.

Lastly, overall shaping/balance in the rear section (addition of upper tail and length of engine section) benefited hugely from some advice from Rob. Thanks again!

Equipped with two heavy acid plasma throwers, BALROGs are low flying war machines with limited space capability. They are very efficient against infantry and vehicles depending on their armor as the glowing pink plasma they shoot burn through flesh and metal.

2nd VV. a third one is ready and awaiting. ;)

Hello,

Across the galaxy, the Garuda Starfighters of the Preserving Empire have become legendary for their power and majesty – especially among the Empire's serpentine enemies.

For Bio-Cup Round 2 I decided to make an interpretation of Garuda, the King of Birds and mount of the god Vishnu in Hindu and Buddhist texts. For inspiration I looked specifically at statues and images of Garuda in Thailand, where he is part of the national emblem. I also wanted to include some reference to the Nāga, the serpent race who are the enemies of Garuda, and went through a few variations on them before deciding that simpler was going to serve me better.

This is the new MOC I've been working on - the Jedi Starfighter as seen in Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. The MOC is still not done, but I couldn't resist taking some pictures!

Really happy how this turned out so far, my main goal was putting a full astromech inside and having an accurate opening for the S-foils.

Still waiting on some parts in the right colors - some are already out, but sadly not yet in my collection, and some will released 2021!

Still have to do the cockpit bottom & interior, and a few minor tweaks here and there. There's already 100+ design hours in the wings, you can identify about 6 different sections in the wings, and all took at least 10 iterations before I was satisfied!

Hello, first entry forthe Small Starfighter Building challenge

Yes , there's a fig inside ;-)

Average, I'll try to do something cooler next time

"The Shrike was a modified Incom Corporation Alpha-52 starfighter prototype owned by Talon Karrde"

Modelled on the version used by Mara Jade in Mysteries of the Sith, this starfighter features wings that rotate between landed and flight mode with space for a single pilot in the cockpit.

It would fit into the SW universe due to the colour combo.

This is a very classical angular shaped spaceship, which was forced by the canopy and I was struggeling to finish it. That's why it's kinda MEH to me actually, I'll probably start another try with the engine pods, which is the basically the only part which I like and where the build started..

Also even the photos are sharp the colour looks so dull, much different than the original :-(
