lucky with this encounter. Granted, that sharp knife like bill, could cause some injury though ! Note the Hackled Neck and raised feathers on the GBHE....

This shows my little mini quilt stand that I have REALLY enjoyed. The carrot ornamental iron topper of the stand can be switched out with several other seasonal designs that I bought to fit. It's darling.

I was lucky enough to witness a stand off between a juvenile Sparrow Hawk, 2 Magpies and 2 Ravens on a nature reserve in Dawlish Warren, Devon.
The Ravens and the Magpies were posturing and trying (unsuccessfully) to intimidate the young hawk to scare him away, circling him and flying close over his head.
He was so unfazed by them that he actually stopped for a bath mid-attack!
In this shot a Raven and a Magpie keep a close watch on the Hawk.

The North Christian Church stands at 850 Tipton Lane. Founded in 1955, it is part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). The church building of 1964 was designed by Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen (1910-61) and completed in 1964. Saarinen's father Eliel Saarinen had designed the First Christian Church in Columbus.
The building is hexagonal in shape, with a central metal spire that is 192 feet high. Below the spire, there is an oculus that admits light into the main level. The sanctuary is located at the center of the building, with the Lord's Table located in the center of the sanctuary. Rows of pews surround the altar in a hexagon, reflecting the idea that worship should be a central aspect of the life of the congregation. The lower level contains classrooms, an auditorium, a kitchen, and an activities area.
The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000 and was designated a National Historic Landmark the same year.
