Detail of the 'drop in' . Some aluminium section trimmed and riveted to the shortened TV stand. The material is about 3mm thick so I doubled it up at the top to allow the QR to grip properly.
STAND WITH COMMUNITIES, NOT CORPORATIONS
September 13, 2018 - As the Global Climate Action Summit (GCAS) begins, Indigenous and frontline communities continue to send Governor Brown and those attending the summit the message - stand with communities, not the climate profiteers and the fossil fuel industry.
From the organizers:
"Jerry Brown’s promotion of continued fossil fuel production, carbon trading markets and other incentives to oil, gas and other polluting corporations, perpetuates climate change and decimates Indigenous communities and Native nations, communities of color and other working class peoples throughout California and around the world.
Such perverse subsidies for “climate capitalism” will turn frontline communities into sacrifice zones for decades to come."
Today's action began at Jessie Park with a march to Moscone Center, the site of the summit. In a return appearance, 1000 Grandmothers Bay Area blocked intersections to create a safe space for the protesters outside the summit.
This weeks actions have been organized by Idle No More SF Bay, Diablo Rising Tide, the Ruckus Society, It Takes Roots, Indigenous Environmental Network, the Sunflower Alliance and Brown's Last Chance.

The 460 students who were evacuated due to a hydro vault blaze in a nearby highrise can go back to school. Toronto fire officials said they received a call that an underground transformer had blown in the laneway near the residential tower at 33 Princess St. shortly after 1 p.m. When fire fighters arrived on scene, they saw brown billowing smoke. The fire was upgraded to two alarms.
If wishes were trees the trees would be falling
Listen to reason
Reason is calling
Your feet are going to be on the ground
Your head is there to move you around
So stand!

A storm which resulted in flooding in South Malaysia was brewing. All the trees were swpet away and leaning. Canon EOS 5D and 35mm L.
I like the simplicity of the image. The tall tree going straight up in the face of thr stormy wind.
RAW processed in Canon DPP and bw conversion in PS Elements.
I like the way this first finial is unique to the rest - with the rusted coloration. Happy Fence Friday! Hope everyone has a great weekend!
