Inspired by Richard Cooper's picture in an exhibition at Cromford, I set out to photograph Crich Stand at sunset. Shot at approx 8:15 pm Monday 23 August. No tweeks - just as it was

Generally, if a light stand has an option for braked wheels, of course, those are the ones to go for, if you are having wheels.
Left to right: MSE's B387490 stand fitted with Manfrotto (braked) wheels complete with shoe rotation resisting shims & grub screws. Center: Kupo's Baby (sometimes called Junior) Roller stand (KS300712) with a lowered tripod base and Kupo wheel shoes angled to match (c18 degrees from the horizontal). Right: Mid range Ebay special with Ebay braked wheels simply to match the leg diameter. (The first and last are c45 degrees to the horizontal.) For straight tracking it's obviously necessary to ensure that the leg deployment angle secures the swivel axes as being perfectly vertical.
Overall, my most used stand is Kupo's Baby Roller stand (KS300712), often used with their Steel Baby Boom - it's a great medium sized workhorse - I love it. (Still the case in 07-2021.)
I wanted to fit wheels where none were associated with the (Ebay) stand. Note that adding wheels may in some circumstances slightly compromise the total stand weight carrying capacity - which might explain a lack of wheels listed as an option.
Things to consider include:
Leg cross-section profile
Leg diameter or dimension
Angle of leg to the floor (a low tripod base style?)
If the leg is circular in cross-section, do you desire a shim that absolutely prevents rotation of the wheel shoe about the leg axis? And are you prepared to drill super precise holes in the leg ends to mate with same? I add rubber ferules or use tabbed Gaffa tape to cover the holes when used outside without wheels.
When using shims to mate square section legs with wheel shoes of differing dimensions, the shims need to be accurately made achieving a snug/stable fit even before tightening the bolt.
There are (pricey & heavy) types (not shown) designed to be adjustable, to allow use, both with low profile and normal stand tripod bases - or - with a change in geometry to reduce the stand's footprint when necessary. MSE's (steel) Digital Baby stand 387032 has a leg angle of 36 degrees (Footprint D 128 cm), so the legs need to be pinched up slightly if using 45 degree castors - then it still has a footprint D of 114 cm. (B&H quotes MSE's C stand's Footprint D of 70 cm. It's longest leg reaches just 47 cm from the center column.)

This would not normally be a place that I would stand but we went to see the eagles at Starved Rock State Park in Illinois, but there were none there. Instead we saw this ammonia barge going through the lock on the Illinois and Mississippi Canal.
Looking north, towards the rugby union stand, at Ashbrooke Sports Club, home to Sunderland Cricket Club since 1887. The rugby union and cricket pitches overlap.
The hosts are fielding during the early stages of a 'losing' draw, in the North East Premier Cricket League, against Premier Division fellow strugglers Chester-le-Street. The game was contested on a new, batter-friendly wicket. There were two centuries: for Chester-le-Street's Andrew Smith and for Sunderland's Dan Shurben.
Sunderland Rugby Union Club moved to Ashbrooke the same year as the cricketers. The cricket club were formed in 1808, the rugby union club in 1879.

Along the road to Dassa one can find concentrations of stands selling gari (what you get when you grind down igname, a kind of african potato). The lady sellers often have a little sign made to identify their stand.
