Despite being a rather rainy day, even for Portland, we managed to get out to the store. My life is now made a bit easier by a bike repair stand in my garage.
My dad took a picture of the plane that we didn't get on. Just another day in the world of Stand By traveling. It has its ups and downs but I guess it's better than paying all that money for a full fair ticket.
you stand through the pain, you wont drown. and one day, whats lost can be found. you stand in the rain.

I saw this bug doing something unusual, in fact funny, one late afternoon in the forest. After I took the photos I relieved it from its predicament and discovered why it could not flip over on its own. It was stuck on a patch of sticky web presumably left by a spider. I had thought it was practicing yoga!

The Happening Scene: Stand on Zanzibar, by John Brunner. This 1968 novel of 2010 projects a world of seven billion humans (who could all stand on the island of Zanzibar, so they say), with unlikely political, international, and religious alliances and diversity; racial, gender, and personal allegiance diversity in flux; economies and governments controlled by billionaires and corporations; and media constantly bombarding our senses with news of random violence, controlled food shortages, entertainer's lives and deaths; and the information network that can be analyzed, scanalyzed, synthesized, and taken advantage of.
