The transept is unusually large and brightly lit thanks to the large rose windows on the north and south and the large windows below them in the triforium of each transept. In the northwest corner is a stairway from 1471 which gave access to the cathedral library. It was updated with Neo-Gothic landings in the 18th century. [...]" (Wikipedia)

This is an old shot (obviously) that I didn't post because it irked me that I didn't quite get my viewpoint precise enough. I also thought the grey, concrete steps were too uninteresting. But looking at it again now, I think the grey, cold concrete actually makes the shot as it contrasts so well with the beautiful vibrant autumn tones and the softness of the fallen leaves. A damp, grey day, made more beautiful by a wonderful carpet - truly a stairway to heaven. And of course I am listening to the song as I write :) !

From the East Loop platform, the mail was sent by conveyor up to the sorting floor where it would be distributed around the Mount Pleasant area of London. This stairway gives access to the floor above from the East Loop platform.

Riverview Hospital is a Canadian mental health facility located in Coquitlam, British Columbia. It operated under the governance of BC Mental Health & Addiction Services when it closed in July 2012.

In 1904 the provincial government purchased 1,000 acres (400 ha) in then-rural Coquitlam for the construction of Riverview Hospital.

Patients were originally housed in temporary buildings, and in 1913 the building that would eventually be called West Lawn began treating the 300 most seriously ill male patients. The building was originally constructed to hold 480 patients. By the end of the year it housed 919.
