Stacks at the Michigan City Power plant as viewed from Mount Baldy.
Photographed using a NIkkor 600mm f/4 lens on a Nikonr F4 using Fuji Neopan 100 Acros film with a red filter.
It felt very welcoming and cozy in this library despite all the Victorian ornamentation.
The Jefferson Market library used to serve as a courthouse, and I can't be sure which library I enjoyed photographing more--this one or the 42nd Street one.

The size of this stack and the volume of exhaust is simply awesome. It forces you to think about the volume of coal being burned and the impact on our environment, even though the exhaust gas has had the particulates removed and has been scrubbed.
Hmmm......Ya......I went a little crazy.
My favorite quilt store is moving and this week is a huge moving sale. That explains everything.
This is two long night exposures stacked. Viewing this large reveals the literally hundreds of twinkling lights. It was insanely windy tonight though, so you can see the camera is moving around a little bit. I will have to take this again some time soon. I really like the extremely dark storm cloud in the top right. Adds some drama. My favorite part of this photo is the reflection of the trees in the water from the light at the mill. See the "note" for where to look. Must be viewed in its original size to see these reflections.
Stacks of "fundreds" waiting to be "banded"!
I took inspiration from "fundreds" that kids around the nation have created and were posted online.
But I also had to paint one of them in homage to my favorite artist, Natasha Wescoat!
