South Stack Lighthouse is built on the summit of a small island off the north-west coast of Holy Island, Anglesey, Wales. It was built in 1809 to warn ships of the dangerous rocks below.
The 91-foot (28 m)-tall lighthouse on South Stack was designed by Daniel Alexander and the main light is visible to passing vessels for 24 nmi (44 km; 28 mi), and was designed to allow safe passage for ships on the treacherous Dublin–Holyhead–Liverpool sea route. It provides the first beacon along the northern coast of Anglesey for east-bound ships.
Visitors can climb to the top of the lighthouse and tour the engine room and exhibition area. The lighthouse is open seasonally at the bottom of a 400 step path!
Here is the finished chair, fully stacked. I'm too lazy to count the number of layers... but there are a lot.
Or wait, let's use math. It's 14" thick, and each layer of cardboard is about 1/8" thick... so that's approximately 112 layers. Jeesh!
These stacking rings feature two finishes -- one side brushed, one side polished -- to create interest when stacked in the multitude and configuration of your choice. Sold as a set of 2.

This is an example of the black magic that is frame stacking. On the left, we have a raw, untouched frame. It is one of hundreds or sometimes thousands that goes into making a stacked image. Registax (the stacking software) analyzes every single frame of the thousands and 'stitches' together a composite of the clearest, sharpest parts. I then touch up colour and contrast in Photoshop, giving me the final image on the right. Programmers are truly amazing.

This is a an experiment with focus stacking - it's two photos merged, one focussed on the house, one on the urn.
However, at f11 the depth of field was such that both photos give tolerable sharpness in both zones, so it's not a great demonstration of the principle!
