Since the 6th century there has been a church on this site. For the past 1500 years prayer and worship has been offered to God on a daily basis which continues to this day. St David taught his followers to ‘be joyful, to keep the faith and to do the little things’.
The Cathedral is hidden in a grassy hollow, and not visible from the sea, thus escaping VIking attention.
A serendipitous moment. A glance out the window to see a condensation trail left behind by some airplane perfectly placed as if there were some message being transmitted between the Cathedral and the Heavens above.
The upper winds kept pushing the contrail to the south and I had to run from one window to the next to try to line it up.
Suffice to say I was getting some strange looks from the other guests trying to enjoy their breakfast as I "excuse me"'d and pushed chairs out of the way in order to get the shot.
My breakfast companion just rolled his eyes. He's used to this sort of behaviour from me.

St Margaret`s Church Millington is a grade one listed church nestling in the East Yorkshire Wolds.
It has a 12th century nave and 14th chancel.
It features a 2007 stained glass window titled the "Road to Emmaus" by Tom Denny

This is part of a larger 72-panel window called "Christ in the Heavenly Court" depicting Jesus surrounded by saints. It is reportedly the largest stained glass window installed in a Catholic Church in 100 years. The window is by Franz Mayer of Munich.
This window is in the St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Center on the campus of the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA
St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, London, 4 Dec 2017
In the late 1860s George Gilbert Scott built the Midland Grand Hotel alongside St Pancras Station.
The hotel opened in 1873. The hotel was expensive, with costly fixtures including a grand staircase, rooms with gold leaf walls and a fireplace in every room. It had many innovative features such as hydraulic lifts, concrete floors, revolving doors and fireproof floor constructions, though none of the rooms had bathrooms, as was the convention of the time.
However by 1935 it had become outdated and closed.
It was then used as railway offices, until the 1980s when it failed fire safety regulations and was shut down. The exterior was restored and made structurally sound at a cost of around £10 million in the 1990s. Meanwhile it had survived attempts by British Rail to demolish it.
With the rejuvenation of the St Pancras / Kings Cross area permission was granted in 2004 for the building to be redeveloped into a new hotel. The main public rooms of the old Midland Grand were restored, along with some of the bedrooms.
The hotel opened in 2011.

Way out in the Atlantic and on a calm day
mooring looks easy. But it is difficult getting a mooring which is why I was lucky to get there .. third time lucky. The boat is the one I arrived on from a ship. There is no other place you can land on.

St Paul's Cathedral, London. Opened in 1711 (although not completed until 1720), the Cathedral was designed by Sir Christopher Wren and is grade 1 listed. Until 1962 it was the tallest building in London. The new Tate Modern viewing gallery has opened up spectacular views of this area.

St Ives is a seaside town, civil parish and port in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The town lies north of Penzance and west of Camborne on the coast of the Celtic Sea. In former times it was commercially dependent on fishing.
20: I made this picture during a boulevard walk we undertook while staying on Malta. We walked from our hotel near the Casino to the ferry which brought us to Valetta.

Today is the memorial of the abbot St Romuald who lived between 950 and 1027, and came from Ravenna in the north-east of Italy. After some years in a monastery, Romuald became convinced that monks should move back towards the more solitary, hermit-like existence of Saint Antony. He left the monastery, and travelled far, advocating the solitary path, and setting up hermitages and new monastic communities that put more emphasis on a solitary life-style. One of these monasteries was at a place called Camaldoli, and this gave its name to the new monastic order, the Camaldolese, an offshoot of the Benedictines. Whereas the Benedictines wore black, the Camaldolese were notable for their white clothing.
On 10 March 2012, Pope Benedict XVI said: "Through the faithfulness and benevolence of the Lord, the Congregation of Camaldolese monks of the Order of Saint Benedict has completed a thousand years of history, feeding daily on the word of God and the Eucharist, as their founder Saint Romuald taught them, according to the triplex bonum of solitude, community life and evangelization".
This painting of the saint is in the church of San Gregorio in Rome, which is cared for by the Camaldolese.
