SSV Normandy SR1, built in celebration of the Mass Effect Legendary Edition. The model is 900mm long - about 113 studs - and features fully moveable wings, subwings, thrusters, and forward thrusters.

Most of the build uses very illegal connections to achieve the complex compound curves of the in-game model, but no glue, tape, or agent other than Lego has been involved in the making.

An unusual spotting in the US, seen at a local 'Cars & Coffee' type event. The SSV is equipped with a 415 hp engine. This particular one was fitted with a supercharger as well.

2017 was not only the final year for this model, it was sadly also the final year for Australian production of Holden autos.

The SSV Tole Mour is a 156 ft (48 m) schooner and sail training vessel operating in the Channel Islands of California, off the West Coast of the United States.

Built by the Nichols Bros. Boat Builders[2] on Whidbey Island in Washington's Puget Sound to withstand the extreme conditions of the South Pacific, she is extremely seaworthy and meets or exceeds all of the United States Coast Guard's regulations as a Sailing School Vessel, while offering luxurious accommodations in comparison to other tall ships. At 229 gross registered tons she is the largest active tall ship on the West Coast.

"Hard on my flank, we're going in!"

Name: SSV Normandy SR1

Length: 115 studs

'The SSV Normandy SR-1 (Systems Alliance Space Vehicle Normandy Stealth Reconnaissance-1) was a Systems Alliance starship. She is a prototype "deep scout" frigate, first of the eponymous Normandy class, co-developed by the Alliance and the Turian Hierarchy with the sponsorship of the Citadel Council. She is optimized for solo reconnaissance missions deep within unstable regions, using state-of-the-art stealth technology powered by an experimental drive core.'

Well, here she is, 'finished'. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the stickers ('Normandy' and 'SR1') in time for SHIPtember, but I will have them, in time for BrisBricks in a few days, and for posting on MOCpages. I will add photos of a fully stickered Normandy when i can. The ship is AMAZINGLY well balanced, as evidenced by the lack of a forward stand. It balanced wholly on the stand under her hangar, slightly aft of the midpoint. This makes the SHIP great for display, but the inherent structural weakness means that there is little chance of me swooshing this anywhere. Oh well.

A sister-ship to the SSV Normandy.

While Normandy is by far the most famous D-day landing zone, it was only one of several. "Omaha" was another beachhead stormed on D-day.

Lately I've been drawn to microspace by Pierre's prolific bulding streak.

I don't have a good backstory right now, maybe a private transport or pirate frigate?

Anyway, enjoy

A storm brought several great boats in town yesterday. This is the most impressive.

In 1973, the shipyard of Harvey F. Gamage, located on the Damariscotta River in South Bristol, Maine, sent the last of her sailing vessels down the ways. Harvey Gamage had lines reminiscent of a coasting schooner, but was to have a very different mission.

For twenty years, she was owned and operated by Captain Eben Whitcomb. She sailed the Northwest Atlantic and Caribbean Sea with high school and college students, as well as passengers. Some of the longest running sail training programs in the United States originated on Gamage. In 1993, Gamage was purchased by Ocean Classroom Foundation and operated alongside SSV Westward and SSV Spirit of Massachusetts for over twenty years. Harvey Gamage is U.S. Coast Guard classified as both a Sailing School Vessel (SSV) and a Small Passenger Vessel (SPV). She has been extensively rebuilt and continues to sail year-round with Sailing Ships Maine.
