Once the pride of a maritime nation.. Now a floating monument. Secured to the quay and never going somewhere anymore.

In 1959 the SS Rotterdam was one of the last new ships built for transatlantic line services. From 1968 onwards it was used as a cruise ship. After Holland America Line sold the ship it was renamed Rembrandt in 1997. After a multi million euro's restoration project the ship is moored in Rotterdam and serves as a hotel and a museum now.

The Rotterdam came into service for Holland-America Line in 1959. She is the largest passenger liner ever built in the Netherlands and is numbered among the most successful liners which ever sailed the seven seas. The ship has largely maintained her original character and remains in good condition.
Since February 15 the s.s. Rotterdam is open for the public. WestCord Hotels are the owners since June 2013.
