dies war unsere Übernachtung in einem Hotelschiff. Es stammt von 1959 und überquerte die Meere bis New York.
now a hotel in Rotterdam!
From the Archive (August 4, 2008):
Rotterdam welcomes SS Rotterdam back.
In 2008 SS Rotterdam, a former Holland America Line (HAL) passenger liner and later HAL Cruise ship was towed into Rotterdam. There it is permanently moored in Katendrecht as a hotel/party/restaurant ship. SS Rotterdam was launched in 1959 by then Queen Juliana of The Netherlands.
The fifth SS Rotterdam, also known as "The Grande Dame", is a former ocean liner and cruise ship, and has been a hotel ship in Rotterdam, Netherlands, since 2010. She was launched by Queen Juliana of the Netherlands in a gala ceremony on 13 September 1958, and was completed the following summer.
The Rotterdam was the last great Dutch "ship of state", employing the finest artisans from the Netherlands in her construction and fitting out process. Her career spanned forty-one years. She sailed from 1959 until her final retirement in September 2000.
The famous Dutch cruise ship, now a hotel and landmark has a permanent berth in the port of Rotterdam. I replaced the background with Adobe Photoshop and placed the ship in a different environment. Where she comes into her own best. Sailing at sea.

The ship lies in Rotterdam at the 3e Katendrechtse Hoofd.
Made this photo and added the fuji velvia 50 color profile later in photoshop.
SS Rotterdam, on of the last and most beautiful transatlantic liners - I was very lucky she is now to be seen at Rotterdam

My dad, uncle and myself went to the opening of a Feyenoord exposition on the Euromast, September 8th 2021, just before sunset. 20 beautiful photo's of important moments in the clubs history are on display on the observation deck, 100m above ground.

Euromast is a 185m tall observation tower built for the 1960 Floriade and is still one of the big attraction of the city. It's a great place to unwind and shoot some picalillies. It is usually quiet, they have plenty of benches to sit, it is photographer friendly (you can bring your tripod) and there is lots of space. The place has good energy. I can remember a date, it was our second date, with a phenomenal girl and we had some drinks while enjoying the view over the city. Magical evening. Great memories of this place. Check it out if you are visiting Rotterdam!
SS Rotterdam (1959) of the Holland-America-Line, now permanently moored in, where else, Rotterdam, Zuidholland, the Netherlands, where she serves as a museum, event location and hotel.
Grizzled but very friendly veterans of her sailing days will act as volunteer guides and gladly share their knowledge with the visitors.
