The first signs of spring are evident here in woodland at Rode Hall. In fact there were lots of snowdrops here all around the grounds.

The magnolias are a genus of plants in the magnolia family. It contains over 200 species, all of which originate from East Asia or America. The genus was named after the French botanist Pierre Magnol. Some magnolia species and their varieties are popular ornamental shrubs.

Die Magnolien sind eine Pflanzengattung in der Familie der Magnoliengewächse. Sie enthält über 200 Arten, die alle aus Ostasien oder Amerika stammen. Die Gattung wurde nach dem französischen Botaniker Pierre Magnol benannt. Einige Magnolien-Arten und ihre Sorten sind beliebte Ziergehölze.
