In the spring, Ten Foot Falls near Eagle Harbor, Michigan, runs much higher than it does at other times of the year. Yes, those are in the same location! (View this one large and on black.)

The colors of spring cheer us and the shades are the frame

While winter was fairly dry and disappointing, Spring did bring a heavy and much needed blanket of snow to the area ...

A spring found by the side of the road. A tulip from the market. Combined on a light table in the studio. A photographic mixed metaphor.

I love Vegas, but there are three things I miss most about Cincinnati, old friends, Madtree IPA, and the spring blooms at Cincinnati Zoo (and Cincinnati Zoo in general). In case anyone is interested, my latest blog is the weekly feature on Innovation Excellence,

I met them when I was looking for the"Colorful" things in the Spring.

They are really attractive even though they are not colorful.

It's Another Spring !!

I use my freind's lens "Nikkor 70-300mm". It is awesome !!

So, now, I'm waiting Spring Santa. Do you know where he is ?

SPRING BREAK

After all the spring cleaning and setting up for the warm weather, a nice gathering by the pool is just what I need! What are your Spring/Easter pastimes?

It's far too wet to mow back there, but at least I can enjoy the emerging green... :)

I always forget how "red" Spring is...

Another annoying thorny branch by the side of the walking path.

When seen on this brilliant Spring day however it actually manages to look pretty.

New growth, sunshine and warmer days (around 20C today) combine to make us feel good.

Thinking about a holiday ... Holiday (a bit controversial, but seriously cool)

Here's the old skool version: Holiday (starts slow but totally rocks!)

Wishing everyone a great weekend!

Happy to find some signs of spring despite the colder than average temps.

The exhuberant spirit of spring was evident to me in these branches on a late March day when Mother Nature gives her wake-up call to the Earth. There is a special smell in the air and a new light of awakening - time for spring fever!! Happy Easter - Happy Spring to all :)

"And the Spring arose on the garden fair,

Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;

And each flower and herb on Earth's dark breast

Rose from the dreams of its

wintry rest."

~ Percy Bysshe Shelley

One from my 2014 folders. The light is so different in Spring. Colours so much more vibrant and softer.

Looking up at a street tree happily bursting into tender new green growth in spring.

Santa Clara County, California

Since I can’t visit any parks this pandemic spring, I’ve been doing some macro photography in my back yard and along the streets in my neighborhood. I find I can get into the same therapeutic flow state looking for subjects as I can hiking along park trails. Much better than sitting at home, doomscrolling.

Subtle signs of Spring approaching! We finally had a warm day today of +9 Celsius after a month of -37 Celsius!!! Lots of snow melted, lots to go, but it was great to feel that Spring is just around the corner!

I just love to see the daffodils bloom, first sign of spring to me along with all the birds singing.

Some spring blossoms in the park on Saturday morning. The park is now closed again due to the rising numer of Covid cases. I so hoped that the place could remain open after I had already pretty much missed out on Spring there last year.

Snow was falling here even as the clock ticked over into spring -- a last hurrah for a particularly nasty winter.

Welcome dear spring!

Alley Spring, the natural area’s namesake, is the seventh largest spring in Missouri. The spring conduit is known to extend at least 3000 feet underground and reaches at least 155 feet below the surface. Rainfall and runoff entering sinkholes around the town of Summersville, 15 miles to the northwest, has been determined to enter the labyrinth of cave passageways formed in dissolved dolomite ( a type of limestone) under the Missouri Ozarks and exit at Alley Spring. Just outside of the natural area is Alley Spring gristmill that was built in 1894. Despite the historic use of the spring to power a mill, Alley Spring has retained its biological integrity. The cool waters issuing forth from Alley Spring flow through a spring branch for a half-mile before entering the Jacks Fork River. Here in the spring branch cool water (58 degrees Fahrenheit) provides habitat for colorful Ozark fishes including the southern redbelly dace, the Ozark sculpin, and the bleeding shiner. The spring discharges 81 million gallons of water a day. THAT IS 81 MILLION!!!

I'm back! And so are the spring flowers.

This film expired in 3/1996, meaning made in 94/95, so it's possibly 15 years old and I actually got color out of it. That's saying something for the preservation methods of the person who sold it to me. Thanks, person!

Rhododendron periclymenoides (Pinxterbloom Azalea)

Spring? More like winter! But I'm loving the air bubbles trapped in this tiny icicle! This macro icicle had formed on the lid of the bin where I keep the rabbit's sawdust! It's the bin that has provided the green background!

Aaand half hour later it rained snow, you gotta love Finnish Spring =)

It's in the news,it's everywhere...It's the Spring sensation !

A great sight at the Smith Oak Rookery at High Island in Texas. Spring migration/ breeding season in full swing. Looks like dancing to me.
