In the 'spirit of collaboration', my dear friend Jenni www.flickr.com/photos/jennilou101 sent this gorgeous image to me for editing. It was taken of Spirit Island on her recent trip to Alberta, Canada, while she was enjoying a Maligne Lake Cruise in Jasper National Park.
I had such great fun playing and trying out different editing tools. We had a wonderful visit while she was here, and I feel like she's invited me into another piece of her great travel adventure by allowing me to edit this shot. What an honour.

This is a re-do of an image I posted previously. The previous version was a little flat.
A small island in Maligne lake, Jasper National park. It is hidden far away so you need to take the Maligne lake boat service to reach here. No trails or other way to get this view. The ticket is bit expensive but worth it. When you start, the color of the water is just normal which turns to green and then to blue. It is awesome!
If you look from other side, it is hard to distinguish this tiny island. As the boat was approaching the shore, we all were searching for the island :) It is said that long ago, a photographer put this photo in his exhibition and the world got to know about such a magical place and it became very famous afterwards. He named the photo as Spirit island and the place known so then. It is one of the most photographed locations in the world!

To me this image represents the very essence of Patagonia and its beautiful spirit. I have held off on finishing this piece for a couple of years, but always seem to return to this composition. The final image ended up being an exposure blend of three images in photoshop in order to get the correct flow of the falls balanced with the light in the sky.
Had a fun day taking in the Autumn colors in the Umpqua National Forest. It was a classic, soggy and rainy Oregon day.
Passing winter storms created interesting light as Mount Whitney remained elusive with a cloak of clouds. Imagine standing at the summit of this mountain! What an incredible hiking experience.

Spirit Falls is famous among kayakers and photographers. This unique 33 feet waterfalls has amazingly beautiful turquoise water. I had been want to get the fall colors on it for a long time and so glad I can make it during my short trip.
It took me some efforts to get down to the spot, and I took the shootings from different spots, and here is the first share from this amazing water falls with full fall colors and large water flow. A truly paradise!

Original spirit level on Hasselblad 501C/M (2000) w/ Zeiss Chrome Distagon 50 mm/f4 (1966). New (?) working well with old, 34 years difference in production year was no problem in the hands of Victor Hasselblad.
Another shot of Spirit Lake. It sits at the base of Mt.Saint Helens in Washington State. It is a fascinating place to visit and very historic!

Das Schiff befand sich auf einer Testfahrt und hatte vor der Südspitze Helgolands Anker geworfen um das Aussetzen und Aufnehmen der Tender Boote zu testen. Am 10. Juli soll die Jungfernfahrt rund um England ab Dover starten.
The newest ship of the Meyer shipyard, we were able to photograph during our Heligoland island tour. The ship was on a test drive and had anchored off the southern tip of Heligoland to test the deployment and picking up of tender boats. On July 10, the maiden voyage around the UK will start from Dover.

One of the coolest spots in the Columbia River Gorge is Spirit Falls. It is located on the Washington side of the gorge. The hike down to the falls is quite sketchy and unmarked. This spot is pretty popular amongst kayakers to kayak down the 33' waterfall. The water is quite amazing with its blue turquoise color. A definitely must see while out in the Pacific North West. Enjoy!
After taking forever to finally leave Augusta due to NS holding them up, Q197 finally gets about 47 miles outside of Augusta as it passes the former Georgia Railroad coaling tower in Camak. Leading is the 3194, the companies "Spirit of Our Law Enforcement" engine. This train is often pushing 15,000+ feet long in the age of PSR, & with the usual power consist of one engine up front & one mid-train, this & counterpart 198 are pretty easy to chase & will have the whole 170+ mile subdivision to themselves due to their extreme lengths, which isn't necessarily a problem since they are also the only regularly scheduled road trains on this line. 6-14-21

My annual trip down to Talisker beach. I always go in October to catch the sun setting behind the seasick. Some may feel that having the sun in a different placing would be better but I like how it silhouettes the stack and draws the eye to it. Tide was in and high on this occasion, so none of the sandy part of the beach was visible.

Spirit Lake sits at the base of Mt. Saint Helens in Washington state.
In the upper left of my image, you will see thousands of trees that were violently stripped from the mountainside during the violent eruption of Mt Saint Helens in May of 1980.
Approximently 80% of those trees now sit at the bottom of the lake.
The trees are in a petrified state, and will probably remain in the lake for hundreds of more years, or perhaps thousands of years!
