Tonight, I will be dropping these very special kittens at FLUX in Castleberry Hill.
A few months back the HIGH Museum contacted me and asked me if I would be interested in doing something for them in conjunction with the "Picasso to Warhol" exhibit opening in October. I immediately said yes, and together we've planned several kittens, drops, and other surprises culminating in "Catlanta Day" at the High on November 10th.
I won't give away all the surprises yet, but from now until November 10th, I'll be hiding kittens like these, featuring the works of the exhibition artists, around the city. If you happen to adopt one of these kittens, you will be able to use it for free admission to the HIGH on Catlanta Day.
So, the hunt for modern masters begins tonight at FLUX. If you can't make it out tonight, don't stress. I will be making lots of artists cats in the coming weeks. There are 14 of the greatest artists showing after all! Tonight's batch will include Calder, Mondrian, Matisse, Pollock, and Picasso kittens.

Wow, now that’s an unusual lash up, three AC4400CW’s! While not exactly rare (the BNSF has 121 of them) they’re kind of lost in the sea of the several thousand Dash 9’s, and ES’s of various sorts that make up most of the BNSF current fleet. However what really caught my eye were seven blue tarped loads right behind the engines; at first I thought that I’d caught some export power on the move, but as they went by I discovered that they were something far more local; car body shells from Sumitomo for the new Metra electric Highliners being built by Nippon Sharyo out in Rochelle. Because of this I assumed that this was an Aurora Sub train, but it was a bit more complicated than that. The train had come off the NS at Clearing with a mix of Kansas City and Twin Cities traffic which the BNSF routed out of town on a KC train with a stop at Eola to sort out the Aurora Sub traffic for furtherance on an Eola-Savanna train.

I quickly made another bulletin board from some extra homosote I had leftover from another project. It's covered in a thin layer of batting and muslin. The Japanese Russian Dolls fabric is simply thumbtacked to the back so it can easily be changed.
The work on the board is by Bella Foster (bird), Donna Compton (flowers), Dawbis (collage) and Yo-Ii (print).
BR Standard 7P6F Britannia class loco 70013 "Oliver Cromwell" passing Manchester Exchange station. The train had departed a minute earlier at 11:06 from Manchester Victoria on the second leg of the "15 Guinea Special" to Carlisle marking the last day of steam operation on British Rail. Sunday 11 August 1968. 70013 was the last steam locomotive to be overhauled by BR and is now preserved.
