I love foggy mornings, especially when things like this are lurking out there. The red drop was totally natural, I wish I knew where it came from.....
Had a chance to watch this with 2 friends who had not seen a launch before. I hopt they found this as amazing as I do. Other than being at the space center this is the best place I have found to watch a launch.
Even the trees are ready for the sunrise. This is the last in a series of my suntrise fog images. I guess I am going to have to figure out when I am going to have to get up early again to go capture some more of this place.
A storm had just passed overhead and we had a bunch of rain. From the look of the sky we were about to get another round of it. We made the decision to take the dog for a quick walk before he was stuck inside all night. I am glad I brought my camera.
Not very often that I don't crop a shot, it took everything I had to get all this in the image.
Just occurred to me. Last night the wife and I saw a Manatee in this exact spot, I wasn't fast enough to get an image.
I really wish that people would not feed all the wildlife around here, but at the same time it makes for a lot of great pictures. The issue with feeding the wildlife is that bigger wildlife will come to the area to find something to eat. In particular the small wildlife.
I hope you like this image, I think this is one of my favorites up to this point. When I pressed the shutter this is exactly what I wanted the results to be. I had spent some time trying to determine how I wanted to photograph those flowers... This is what I decieded on.
I guess I never noticed that in this area of all the palm trees there is that one leafy tree that stands his own. It wasn't until the Sun was coming up and the spotlight was on him that I noticed.
These guys are funny looking birds when you standback and look at them, but when you get close the eye of the Ibis and the way they watch you just gives you that feeling they think you are just another one of the flock.

now that you're older
taking the time to look
back over your shoulder
on the days confusion took
now that you're wiser
surely you've learned to read it
you should know no surface shines brighter
than the light that burns beneath it
never so sure
we always take more
though we still
don't know what it's for
now that I've seen you
stripped to the very core
I know that I need you
less than I did before
never so sure
we always take more
though we still
don't know what it's for
Last weekend the aire show was here, and well they like to fly right over the house. I don't take a lot of plane photos, and we can see why. But had to at least get one posted.
Ever had one of those days were you just need to friend to give you a hug and let you know its all right?
These blooms don't remain on the tree very long and this one happened to land perfectly in the light on the bench for me to photograph.
They were serious, but not too serious. I wish we as a country spent more time like this and less time fighting and complaining.
There was one onter person in the park that morning with me, I suspect she may be the one who put foot prints on the bridge. (A few images back)
It had been a long week, and I have another long week coming up ahead. I needed some time on the water. Its not the best photo of a dolphin, but the best one that I have ever captured... 30 minutes later I found the Manatee's. I will post those tomorrow.
We had been on the boat for about an hour, and some of the other folks on the boat wanted to take a swim. When they were in the water I was watching just slightly off shore and this Dolphin had been playing for some time. So as soon as the swimming break was over, we headed over to see what all the playing in the waves was about. Our friend made many showings. This one just one of them.
The guys at dolphinfamilytours.com made my trip great.
Another stunning Florida Sunset peaking around the clouds and the boardwalk. Today no one was here to experiance it but me.
There is always something to photograph, even when the dolphins are not out playing and the Manatees are cuddled up some where. The grass remains
I can't think of a better way to start the day. A sunrise on the river with just a touch of fog and the little amounts of rain fighting to hang on.
There is no telling what the disucssion is about, in this case the disucssion appeard to be more serious then the ones in the past.
This was one of the strangest things I have seen out on the Banana River. There were 1000's of these ducks in the middle of the day, more or less in a huge group in the middle of the river. They were sitting still enough that from the short I couldn't tell they were ducks until they left. It is hard to describe how many ducks were in this flock, I think I have a photo of them sitting still, but it was at least a half a mile long, if not longer.
Cormorants are a really special bird. I think of them more like submarine birds. When they hunt they hold their breath and dive under water, sometimes you will see them come up for air 100 feet from where they started. As soon as they are done eating however they have to dry out. That is where I found this fellow.
This is the best time of year. The location of the swans I will keep to myself, simply because they are young and some my try to take them. I know of situations where a lot of money has been paid for swans. If you go to see where they are on the map, you will have a much better chance of finding an alligator.
He is just watching the time go by, it was a great afternoon and the sun was getting ready to start setting.
I have captured many Great Egrets, but this one caught my eye. When I was doing processing on my images from that day I noticed the green band from his eye to his bill. I have not seen that before. In addition yesterday I was looking at Flickr images and I saw someone else had an Great Egret with the same green band... If anyone has additional information I would love to know it.
Thanks [https://www.flickr.com/photos/kenskam] It looks like a breeding season thing.
I know he looks really large, but this little guy is no more than a couple feet long. What amazes me about him is the color around his eyes, I guess it is more Orange then it is Red. Know that I was still about 20 feet from him when I captured this image.
They are so graceful when they fly, and will sit still for many hours on end when they hunt. These birds are amazing.
Weather was moving in, the sun was high in the sky. Most of the time with the sun that high my shots don't turn out all that well.
This flower is from a tree that is just blooming like crazy right now. I am not sure what the name of it is, but I am struggling to get a focused imaged like I want. Here is the best I have so far.
elaine_2022 Thanks for the ID... Royal Poinciana Flamboyant Flame Tree Gulmohar
