This is from a series of photo I am doing with the help oof an AI called Dream by WOMBO. The AI takes as suggestions of Keywords along with a piece of art that I have created from the virtual world Second Life as a reference. In the photo the Key words were "SpaceStaition" and the artwork was called ANAVRIN Space Station Horizons Andromeda" In this one I used the Reality filter as well.
The requisite space selfie! Nice reflection of the earth in the helmet. Unbelievable feeling to be your own space vehicle…
Le selfie de l’espace, passage obligé ! À part ça je vous assure, c’est un sentiment inoubliable d’être son propre vaisseau spatial !

Many aurora appear green, but sometimes — as in this image from the International Space Station — other colors such as red can appear. The colors depend on which atoms are causing the splash of light seen in the aurora. In most cases, the light comes when a charged particle sweeps in from the solar wind and collides with an oxygen atom in Earth’s atmosphere. This produces a green photon, so most aurora appear green. However, lower-energy oxygen collisions as well as collisions with nitrogen atoms can produce red photons -- so sometimes aurora also show a red band as seen here.

This is a shot from back in June when Bry and I took a trip down to central Utah to explore the desert and find some interesting places to shoot the Milky Way. It seems like each night we were down there we had incredible airglow, sometimes overwhelming in the images we took. We found this interesting wind blown rock formation with lots of little nooks and holes eroded in a petrified sand dune, so we decided to put some small LED light balls in the holes to add an interesting light element to the shot. Clouds starting rolling in as I was taking my sky pictures, typical, but the airglow was so intense you can barely see the Milky Way anyways. All in all a cool place to shoot with a beautiful night sky to match.
Interplanetary Cruiser
A “big” Lego space cruiser I have built this week. You might notice that the shape is quite unusual:
==> The main structure is obtained with bent 32x16 blue base plates as you can see in the picture if you zoom in on the front or the rear part of the spaceship.
In addition to an original shape this technique provides a very robust design. Something you really appreciate during the building and when you have to manipulate/move the model.
You are either going to love this one or hate it. There's a lot of dark negative space here. The histogram looks like the silhouette of the Burj Khalifa. Give it a chance and let all that black sink in. The dark is full of questions.

The Space Needle is an observation tower in Seattle, Washington, a landmark of the Pacific Northwest, and an icon of Seattle. It was built in the Seattle Center for the 1962 World's Fair, which drew over 2.3 million visitors, when nearly 20,000 people a day used its elevators.

I love the New Space Police CMF (although not the accessories so much). The design and printing is incredible. I felt inspired to create a few riffs on the figure.

I am wearing Yuri Gagarin’s personal wristwatch today, and so it seemed like a good photo opp for another other cool artifact from the Russian space program.
The black ceramic tile that the watch rests on was part of the thermal protection system of the Soviet Union’s space shuttle Buran, which made one flight on Nov. 15, 1988.
The Buran flew only one two-orbit mission, and because it was just as dangerous as the Shuttle it imitated, it flew and landed autonomously, with no humans on board. Five tiles were lost during the flight. More photos below.
This tile was removed after the orbiter was destroyed in a hangar collapse at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in 2002.
The watch looks to be a 1960's-era solid gold Russian watch, but I suspected it might be a forgery before I bought it. The auction house failed to notice that a letter was missing from the last name!
I got them to correct the listing, and the bidding did not go high, so I figured it was worth it to have an old Russian watch, perhaps circa 1967, that just might really have belonged to the first man in space (despite the typo in the engraving; perhaps that's why he got rid of it =). Maybe someone in flickrland can help shed light on this.
Here is what the auction house provided (as well as originals of the documents referenced): “Attractive 23 jewel, man's 10K gold wrist watch owned by Yuri Gagarin. Made by Russian watch maker and in working order. Back of watch engraved and has been translated as "YURI GAGARIN MAY 1, 1967". Watch accompanied by a note translated as "The watch was bought by Gagarin in 1967. It was in [his] personal use. Gagarina." Original translation report by Igor Moiseyev of ATLANTIC CROSSROAD, INC included. Watch face in fair condition with sweep wear on center of face patina due to age.”
