The Spa Footbridge opened on 19 July 1827, and crowds flocked to see a mail coach and horses gallop at full speed across it. The bridge became a fashionable promenade and provided panoramic sea and harbour views and a link from Scarborough centre to the South Cliff. This spectacular iron construction spans the valley between the Esplanade and St Nicholas Cliff and remains a popular route into Town for guests staying in the South Cliff area.

This was taken a few years ago when I had treated myself to a spa day in a hotel in The Forest. I was the only person there in the morning so I felt like I had my very own pool. I also had a waterproof camera
Could’ve probably been taken any time after 1935 when the lovely Riley car was registered - but the movies are from 2024.
This is not just a display - we saw the car parked outside the local Co-Op store later, whilst the owner popped in for a bit of shopping!
