We had an Ornament Exchange party a couple of nights ago and my husband created a cool ensemble of unusual Christmas songs. I made 15 of these CD covers and we handed out the CDs as gifts at the party. His "soundtracks" are always a big hit :) The melting snowman is called Global Warming by Stampotique. I just love these crazy characters! The fuzzy tail in the background belongs to Hunter, our grumpy old man kitty. Thanks for looking!
an orchestra, a choir, that's always what I love in music and songs.
After yestrerday's "The Holiday" Movie with Cameron Diaz running madly to her love at the end (I would too If I were in her shoes :))) ) and this music this leading music of Hans Zimmer. I was humming all evening. Today all the neighbourhood was listening to it with me :))
Am I ashamed?... no! I'm a fool! :))
the image literally depicts the first line of one of my favorite Neil Young songs. Do you know the line or the song title?

This one comes to me via my friend Jill, who bought it at a Goodwill. Before that Jessica Perry wrote her name on the back, and WDMC (Department of Mass Communications at Eastern Kentucky University) owned it.
Taken by Cory Funk.
Soundtrack from the old movie, "Flipper". Pic taken back on Sunday, May 27, 2018 around Brisbane, CA while along U.S. 101 northbound.
Found this tarnished gem at the Goodwell in the Haight-Asbury area, along with another LP set I snagged.
"Shock Treatment" is the 1981 follow-up film The Rocky Horror Picture Show (It is not a direct sequel!) - It didn't gain the cult following of RHPS, but it has its moments, and some memorable numbers. (Hey, it has Jessica "Phantom of the Paradise" Harper in it, cast as Janet (Weiss) Majors ^_^;, and Charles ("The Criminologist") Gray is cast in another role (and actually interacts with the main cast! ^_^;) )
Yeah, it's a cut-out/notch disc, but -- It's the SHOCK TREATMENT soundtrack, damnit! A once-in-a-lifetime moment where I was in the right place, at the right time!
Oh, I've heard they released the film to DVD in 2006 - I must find that disc... Help!
This song goes out to all who 💜 to daydream in 2020!

When Voices Meet:
One Divided Country. One United Choir.
One Courageous Journey.
They said it couldn’t – and shouldn’t – be done. South Africa was in flames from political violence, and the apartheid government wasn’t willing to transition to a nonracial democracy. But as thousands lined the streets around Durban City Hall in 1993 to attend the original “When Voices Meet” concert with its 500-voice multicultural choir and band, the way forward became clear. And when those courageous musicians were joined by Ladysmith Black Mambazo to take their message across the country aboard The Peace Train, there was no turning back. What happened then, and what’s happening in the country now, are depicted in the compelling and joyful new documentary film, When Voices Meet, starring Tony-award winning actor John Kani, Abigail Kubeka, Sharon Katz, Nonhlanhla Wanda and the cast of The Peace Train.
When Voices Meet is set at the time when Nelson Mandela was finally released from prison. South African musician and music therapist Sharon Katz joined with singer and educator Nonhlanhla Wanda to form a 500-voice multiracial choir to break through Apartheid’s barriers. Threatened with bombs and thwarted at every turn, they prevailed and railroaded across the country aboard The Peace Train.
Singing their way into the hearts, minds and soul of the divided country in the midst of a civil war, they promoted a peaceful transition to democracy and went on to become Mandela’s face of the new nation by performing at special events in South Africa, Washington, DC and all across America.
When Voices Meet documents the trials, tribulations and triumphs of those musician activists and young choir members. They performed together for seven years and then reunited 20 years later to tell their stories and reflect upon The Peace Train’s impact. It’s a joyful, inspiring story of hope and determination despite tremendous obstacles, including lessons that apply to American issues today.
When Voices Meet was awarded Best Documentary Film, Best Original Soundtrack, Best Director, President’s Award and Audience Award in the USA and received the MADA Award in Toronto. Film screenings across North America in 2015-16 include St. Louis Int’l Film Festival; Philadelphia Film Festival; Chicago Int’l Social Change Film Festival; Ft. Lauderdale Int’l Film Festival; Toronto’s Global Community Film Festival & South African Film Festival; Route 66 Film Festival; Jersey City Int’l TV & Film Festival; Omaha Film Festival; Antigonish Film Festival, Nova Scotia; Teaneck Int’l Film Festival, New Jersey; Waimea Ocean Film Festival, Hawaii; Reel Work Film Festival in Monterey, CA; CineCulture in Fresno, CA; Berkeley Film Foundation, CA; CIIS in San Francisco, CA.

I was looking through my dad's old vynils yesterday when I found this. It's a collectors edition soundtrack to E.T. ... on vynil.
I don't know wether to laugh or cry about it, so i'm gonna hang it on my wall to laugh at it for years to come.

Excellent soundtrack with slow Jazz numbers and dramatic orchestral themes. If i would dare a comparison i would say that it sometimes reminds me of Gianni Ferrio's best cinematic efforts.
The Highlight is "The organization" a five minutes plus Drama Funk track.
If you keep in mind that this beauty was composed by...Gilbert Becaud, it is really surprising, maybe the answer is to be find into the fact that this album was orchestrated by Christian Gaubert.

They don't make musicals like this anymore. Showboat is a classic from 1951. Howard Keen at his best vocally as is Kathryn Grayson. A showboat romp on the river.
"Should I write myself out of the history books,
and mark a place in time for every chance you took?
Don't get me wrong I know you've got your life in place -
I've yet to take the hint,
Some day
I'm sure I'll get the picture,
and stop waiting up...
When it all comes down,
to a sunrise on the east side,
will you be there to carry home,
the remains of my wasted youth,
this wasted time on you,
has left me shaking 'n waiting,
shaking 'n waiting for something more.
Tonight is alive with the promise of a street-fight,
and there's money on the table,
that says your cheap-shots won't be able,
to break bones.
I've yet to break a sweat,
I'll make your past regret its future.
Here's to you.
When it all comes down,
to a sunrise on the east side,
will you be there to carry home,
the remains of my wasted youth,
this wasted time on you
has left me shaking in waiting,
for something more.
Make all of my decisions for me,
I've never taken the fall for deceit,
We'll keep a secret if you keep me guessing,
The taste of your lips says we shouldn't have met like...
Make all of my decisions for me,
I've never taken the fall for deceit,
We'll keep a secret if you keep me guessing,
The taste of your lips says we shouldn't have met like this
I can keep a secret if you can keep me guessing,
The flavor of your lips is enough to keep me pressing,
for more than just a moment of truth between the lies told,
to pull ourselves away from the lives we leave back (home)...
I can keep a secret if you can keep me guessing,
The flavor of your lips is enough to keep me here, keep me here
When it all comes down,
to a sunrise on the east side,
will you be there to carry me home?
the remains of my wasted youth,
this wasted time on you
has left me shaking in waiting,
for something more." - All Time Low
