"They are all gone into the world of light!
And I alone sit lingering here;
Their very memory is fair and bright,
And my sad thoughts doth clear."
This guy is a Little Soul Doll Kimmy. He is a 12-inch Asian ball-jointed doll made out of resin. (I did the faceup and very light body blushing using acrylic paint and I sealed the work with a layer of matte varnish, a layer of Mr. Super Clear, and a layer of Mr. Top Coat.) He can wear Ken’s clothes as long as you sew darts in the shirt (Ken has much bigger pecs than Kimmy) but Ken’s pants fit Kimmy perfectly. As for Ken’s shoes, they tend to be too large (yes, Ken has bigger feet than Kimmy) but he can wear the shoes that are made for the 1/6 scale Volks NEO-EB Go Dollfie. He can also wear the Volks Dollfie Plus wigs.

The 45EPIC landscapes and goddesses are straight out of Homer's Iliad & Odyssey!
I'm currently updating a translation with the Greek names for the gods and goddesses--will publish soon! :)
"RAGE--Sing, O goddess, the anger of Achilles son of Peleus, that brought countless ills upon the Achaeans. Many a brave soul did it send hurrying down to Hades, and many a hero did it yield a prey to dogs and vultures, for so were the counsels of Zeus fulfilled from the day on which the son of Atreus, king of men, and great Achilles, first fell out with one another. " --Homer's Iliad capturing the rage of the 45EPIC landscapes and seascapes! :)

THE SOUL-STEALER:
A box camera made out of a clearance-sale shelving unit. 13' per side.
Blacked completely on the inside with matte paint. All seams and corners sealed with adhesive caulk.
Interchangable lensboard with a Kodak Retina-Xenar f/3.5 50mm lens on a Compur 0 shutter.
The back is also changable. I'll be using a Polaroid CB-103 3.25' x 4.25' pack film holder and a homemade 120 roll film back. Can also be used as pinhole camera by replacing the lens with a piece of aluminum with a .02 inch hole.

Diane, Lynette, and Megan of the amazing non-profit Soulumination. If you're not familiar, you really need to read about their cause.
Founder Lynette has the most incredible home in Ballard that she designed with her husband, where she runs her own photography business. This is where they held a yearly fundraiser for Soulumination - featuring tons of amazing handmade artwork, Christmas wreaths, baked goods, and more. This was my first time going - so glad I did :)
In Disney and Pixar’s “Soul,” a middle-school band teacher finds himself in The Great Before—a fantastical place where new souls get their personalities, quirks and interests before they go to Earth. There he meets the ubiquitous Counselors who run the You Seminar and the precocious soul, 22 who has never understood the appeal of the human experience. Directed by Academy Award® winner Pete Docter, co-directed by Kemp Powers and produced by Academy Award® nominee Dana Murray, p.g.a., “Soul” will debut exclusively on Disney+ (where Disney+ is available) on December 25, 2020. ©2020 Disney/Pixar. Saw Soul Gravy on Father's Day outside Coastal Kitchen at St. Simons Island. We saw them last year too. Great soul band.

St Gregory, Heckingham, Norfolk
A couple of miles to the north of the more famous Hales sits the church of St Gregory, Heckingham. The two are always spoken of together, and not just because they were once a joint parish (both are now redundant). They are probably the two best examples of small, rural Norman churches in all East Anglia. The south doorway here is so similar to the north doorway at Hales that they must have been made by the same person. I know this is a sweeping statement (I got it from Pevsner) but as the design is not as elaborate as, for example, Wroxham, I do not think one was copied from the other because of beauty or perfection.
Hales, justifiably, is more famous than Heckingham because it is so untouched, so perfectly Norman still. Also, it has wall paintings of great interest, which Heckingham doesn't. But if I may be allowed to go against the grain, I think that Heckingham church is more atmospheric, despite, or indeed perhaps because of, its going over in the late medieval period and again in the late 19th century. Also, there is inside still an air of the 17th century life of the place. Its setting is superb, silent and lonely along narrow lanes, on an overgrown mound. 18th and 19th century headstones wash higgeldy-piggeldy around it, and beyond there is only the old Rectory for company. I like it a lot.
Externally, the tower was extended in the late medieval period - probably replaced to allow a more ambitious bell arrangement. The fine late Perpendicular windows were installed, and most intriguing of all the porch. Look at it - it is clearly early/mid 16th century. There is a niche that has been filled in, but the tablet above the entrance has shields that are probably secular. One imagines some long-suffering sexton in the turbulent 1550s trying to second-guess the religious enthusiasms of the reigning monarch.
Inside, the chancel arch is unfortunate, the chancel itself middle-brow late Victorian, but the east window Annunciation, of 1910, is rather good. I wonder who the artist was. The Crowe family left some dramatic ledger stones in the 17th century; the fierce puritanism of the earliest giving way to a sentimentalism in the later ones. You can see them, and their inscriptions, below. A small brass inscription in the nave asks us to pray for Augustus Wood' soul. The font is Norman, but an engraving of the 18th century shows a more modern font - probably the Victorians wanted to make the interior more Norman than it was already, and found this one somewhere else. But they are not to be blamed for the north aisle - as Victorian as it appears, it is wholly the work of the medieval period. Perhaps the low budget makes it seem so rustic.
My boy is home! My first Loong Soul, my first time buying the clothes with the doll, all aorund great experience! I order from clover-singing, which is Jerryama's (ebay) AKA Doll singing, off-ebay site. They ordered him when I made the down payment for the layaway, so he was at their warehouse before I finished paying him off, which was AWESOME because then it was only a week to get him.
He was brought in as a key but minor character, servant of the Old Men -or the demons who possessed them- and he's specifically paired with the Baroness. A you can see, she has nothing but stars in her eyes for him, the poor deluded lady.
BaiZe, who might keep that name or maybe get Baj, not sure, is one of 4 or 5 demon generals and the lead of them. So I need 3 or 4 other white skinned animal parted dudes to fit the rest. I am eyeing at least one or two more Loong Souls, but I'd love a Soom in there as well. My pure demons are all white and it helps save money. This guy may get a new wig as I stole this one off my Oni cannibal, but he did like the replacement wig, so maybe Baize keeps this, I dunno.
I kinda wish I'd sprung for the face up now but I can do my own later. For now, Baize is happy, the Baroness is happy, and I am happy!
Merry Christmas everyone!!!
Let me introduce you my new outfit made with spring soul for Jair. He want something around a pink floral dress set... So I plan to make a vaporous clothing, inspired by Easter time, the rebirth of nature in the freshness of sunny mornings.
This set include five sophisticated pieces... underpants, a dress, an overdress, a jacket and a cape.
Here you can see the whole set:
- The dress that looks a bit like a ballerina dress.
The overall color is pink, I dye the fabrics in a gradient pink, darker top to bottom clear.
The corseted top is in pink cotton satin fully embroidered with silk ribbons. The idea is to give the impression of a beautiful bouquet of spring flowers, wild roses, green amaranth, mimosa, blue hydrangea...
Some fine frilly lace border the top line and the straps.
The dress skirt is sewn with three layer parts: a short stiff crinoline to maintain a light puffy just below the waist line, a silk tulle petticoat, and above, the skirt itself in a very sheer cotton muslin, striped with vertical machine embroidery and edged with silk and yellow beads.
- The overskirt sewn in pink satin, with two embroidered flowers garlands who descend symmetrically on the both sides. This skirt is closed front with a silk ribbon passing through two eyelets.
- The jacket sewn entirely in a blue cotton organdy (the color of hydrangeas) and therefore will be translucent and stiff. Pale golden machine embroidery will embellish this piece full of semi-transparency.
- The cape sewn in two assorted silk dupioni, fully lined and inspired by the one of Snow White in Mirror Mirror. I made a puffy collar in place f the hat to avoid cluttering the head...
- There is also matching panties, well hidden under the dress, as the modesty so requires!
I take this opportunity to introduce you an other of my new dolls customized by me during the past months.
Her name is "Nijinska".
I used a real factory Blythe that looks like Matryoshka Maiden and bought especially to become this ballet girl, tribute to Nijinski.

One of those nights I just couldn't stop dancing. Full of hypnotizing, slow mo-house with basslines beyond belief, so deep.
Soul Clap from Boston were the highlight of the evening but Gadi Mizrahi from Wolf+Lamb fame has to come back soon too.
With Ratio-host Melon as a perfect opener this was one of those nights at Trouw I will remember for a long time.
