Still some time for this Bearded iris.

I saw this as I was climbing into the car for a rare trip to buy essentials. I just thought this tulip looked good enough to go back inside and put the Trusty Nikon to work.

No Lockdown for this tulip!

Harlequin (Harmonia axyridis) larva on a wire.

see you soon my friends:-))))***

With 4 inches of fresh snow greeting me this morning, I actually went out early to shoot a few photos but it all looked too familiar to me...scenes I've shot many times before...so I returned to a more colorful autumn day on the lake. Plenty of snow pics ahead.

It was a particularly good year for these berries, soon to vanish as the birds seem to relish them. The birds are particularly active today with the woodpeckers, nuthatches, and chickadees at the feeders, and a large group of juncos pecking in the snow beneath. The flock of robins which makes its appearance annually about this time of the first snows is busy eating the rowan berries out front. It's always a pleasant surprise to see them now, gorging on these and other berries, before they make the trip south. Interestingly, the entire band is always composed of males, their red breasts prominent. I assume it's because the females have already departed.

went out into the orchard this morning to enjoy the sunshine and sparkle of the dew... impossible to take pics amongst all the enthusiasm of the pups and dogs tearing round, playing and wanting my camera.

Their pound is nearly ready, so hope to get a chance soon to capture this year's beautiful palette.

A taste of spring after long cold winter.

Many thanks for your time, visit and comments - always highly appreciated!

The viola is a large family containing 500 species, they are on record in Greece from the 4th century B.C.

Later in Europe, it was discovered that a plant similar to a viola grew in open areas.

The plant found mostly in fields and amongst rocks in the Alps, hence Alpine.

It became known as a wild pansy (French: pensée). It might have been a romantic Frenchman who 'named' it...

A pensée can be a thought or a saying, short or it can be as long as a paragraph, a page, a poem!

Maybe he thought of his loved-one, dried one amongst some book he carried? Juste une pensée... lol.

These delicately fragrant flowers come in a wonderful variety of colours.

The dark centres in some flowers are thought to resemble little faces.

These are a smaller variety that I have in the garden, I could not resist photographing them in the studio...

Soon back in the garden.

As always, thank you for your lovely comments and thoughts, M, (*_*)
