How deep is the water?

I can't swim...is it safe?

Garden image

Found this sparrow in Blue Heron Nature Preserve in Atlanta, GA. (Melospiza melodia)

Nice to see a Song Thrush today not as many around as there used to be!

This little one posed in the perfect fall setting for me.

A Song Sparrow hanging around the Brydon Lagoon.

🇬🇧 The song thrush (Turdus philomelos) hunts worms and insects, but its favourite food is snails: It uses a stone as a kind of anvil to break open their shells.

Seems like I've been putting on a lot of HDR and buildings this past week, so will start the week with this little song sparrow.

** Sadly we rarely see a Song Thrush in our garden anymore. It's sad as they are such wonderful singers. This was taken in 2020 the last time I spotted one it was taken through the kitchen window

THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT TO MY STREAM.

I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL IF YOU COULD NOT FAVE A PHOTO

Not the best background but the best Song thrush at Strumpshaw allowed me to take a close picture this morning

Found at Vaseux Lake in the Okanagan BC

"This familiar sparrow is one of the most diverse and widespread songbirds in North America, with 24 diagnosable subspecies (52 named) breeding from Newfoundland to the Aleutian islands of Alaska and south to central Mexico. Individuals vary 150% in body mass over this range—the largest breed in beach grass in the Aleutians, the smallest in California salt marshes." Birds of the World

Song Sparrow at Perry Farm.

A rich, russet-and-gray bird with bold streaks down its white chest, the Song Sparrow is one of the most familiar North American sparrows. The song sparrow is a medium-sized New World sparrow. Among the native sparrows in North America, it is easily one of the most abundant, variable and adaptable species.

Song Thrush - Photographed during a woodland walk, this curious little beauty gave me just enough time to frame and roll the shutter button to capture a lovely pose while perched on an Oak tree branch.

Either a Song Sparrow or a White-Throated Sparrow, hard to tell at this angle? I think the birds are trying to eat me out of house and home!! They seem to come in waves. First the sparrows, then the Blue Jays and Doves Then the Titmouse (s) and Chickadees and House Finches. The bunny rabbit fits itself in anytime it wants but usually early and again late. A very nice form of entertainment on this super cold (12'F) day! Happy Sabbath everyone!
