74. Something new.
After a lecture by David Gilliver at the club on Thursday I dusted down my box of Nic knacks in the garage and tried a few shots in the garden with a child’s light Sabre bought a few years ago.
Amazing what you can do with a bit of positioning. This was taken in my back garden with this Cross Garden Spider on her web above me. The backlight is courtesy of natures lightbox, a sun lit cloud. Front lighting is via my led bicycle light mounted to the tripod ring of the lens.
Ross took this with his cell phone on 11/4/10. The 3 cats are some of the stray cats that adopted us. They have never been inside the house although KiKi has tried once.
well sort of. I tackled my first pattern ( start to finish) it's from Lotta Jansdotter's simple sewing book. I thought her All-Day Tote would make for a good diaper bag. My mother gave me this awesome Japanese fabric that had to be used rite away !
It has a side pocket & a nifty hidden slide pocket in the front. A little too slouchy, even with the interfacing but who cares.
the same camera (nikon F5), the same place (hundertwasser house), the same film (kodak BW 400 CN), the same lenses (vivtar 19 mm) but two different poi of views ;)

I've tried many times to photograph Lisa while working on the couch, i.e., on the computer, however they never quite come out to my liking. I can tolerate this one, most likely because I pushed the crap out of the film and the developing process came out to my taste.

Started playing badminton again. I still can't hit the shuttlecock most of the time... but I'm getting there. :)
My new boss started today; an old co-worker of hers sent her flowers. Seeing blue hydrangeas in the middle of January is a great way to brighten a boring Friday afternoon.

While Lileigh Grace napped today, i took a break from dishes, laundry, cleaning up the toys, and serving the meals that have been delivered almost daily by the friends of my daughter and son in law. We are truly blessed to have these people in our lives. For an hour and a half, i was free to do what i wanted, so i dashed home to make sure the cat boxes were clean for my 3 furries, and then took my camera to do a little macro communing with nature, halfway between my house and my daughters across town. i came upon so many pretty wildflowers (to some short sighted folks, they are known as weeds!) that have met their match in mother natures frosty mornings and 6 inches of the wet S word that have occurred in the past 2 weeks. This past week has been delightfully warm for NJ November....with crisp mornings, as a reminder that it is heading toward the season on dreary. Lileigh Grace and i were barefoot while playing in the park 2 days last week...it was close to 70 degrees....tonight we are back down to 32 degrees and tomorrow it is said it will hit the low 60’s.....with a steady rise throughout the week.......see me smile, as my tenacious side hangs on tightly to the warm days that mom nature offers, as she attempts to soothe my soul!
I hope your days are just as you like them...and that you are making the most of some “you” time. My days have been full, (fun filled!) and i am truly tired by the time my head hits the pillow, but i am very happy that i can do this.
i have some work to do tomorrow for my business....so that i will be able to fill an order for 60-70 Christmas cards for a local company!
PS. Try not to think about the fact that the weekend is halfway over and that mONDAY is looming and lurking...
i am going to try to approach this mONDAY with a bit of silliness.....it doesn’t mean i like it any better....just means i am going to try not to whine about it!! :)
In sun-dappled, wind-swept Bristol, a brand new furry convention debuted and I had the privilege of attending as its first Guest of Honor. Not something I take lightly, so perhaps Guest of Labour would have been a more appropriate title.
Just Fur the Weekend, which I insisted on calling JeftyDubs and has become simply Jefty, was something special. Intimate and exciting, wild and relaxed, the energy was infectious and addictive.
I made so many new friends, people from all walks of life who all inspire me to be better than I am. The hotel staff got into the spirit of things more than I’ve seen at any other con, and a few of them may become One Of Us before too soon.
I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed making them!
