Avro Vulcan XH558. The oldest complete Vulcan airplane in the world. XH558 was the first Vulcan B.Mk2 to be delivered to the RAF at RAF Waddington near Lincoln on 1st July 1960. From 1957 to 1969, during the dark days of the Cold War, the Avro Vulcan was the main British contribution to the NATO strategic nuclear deterrent. The only time the Vulcan was used in anger was during the South Atlantic Conflict in 1982. XH558 was last flown as an RAF aircraft in 1993 before being sold into private ownership and returning to the skies in 2007.

Last week I was sold a Kodak Retina III-C (big C) from a friend, and this is the first test roll from it. Lovely camera, great lens, and a delight to use. Finally I have a "Big C" model to play with!
Ilford Delta 400, processed in Xtol 1:1, 9 minutes. Delta is a terrific film, and is my favorite 400 ASA emulsion. (Though Bergger Pancro400 is a close second).
