With the Hull flying along it was time to axe the turret. I my head I had the plan of making the turret look like the iconic T54 turret. I set about sawing off the upper rear turret and fabricating a new turret roof. This was then back filled with Milliput and sanded

The green items all came from the S-models IS2. External fuel tank added to the rear along with pioneer tools on the hull. Very happy with the look of the turret, very Russian looking
The hull was detailed up and primed. The turret was textured with Mr. Surfacer 1000, a small modelling sanding drum was rolled against the turret during curing to give a deep textured effect, this would be sanded slightly later. Once dry the armour plates for the turret were cut and fitted then the turret detailed.
The new cannon and some stowage to the turret rear completes the build. The model is now ready for paint. Check out the lovely S- Models cannon on top of the turret. It is a fantastic kit with lots of detail and I will be building the 2nd IS 2 from the box at some point.
I painted the model Vallejo acrylics in a rust effect. I then sprayed a couple light coats of hair spray over the model. to allow for chipping and removal of the top coat later.
