I got this in 92 as part of a buy 1 get 1 free offer! this one had been Zeibrated from new & as a result was rust free, the other one wasnt & was used as a spares car.
This one had a blydenstein tuned engine (still a 2300 4 cylinder but with breathed on head & twin 175`s) & was easily a match [at any speed] for a friends E30 BM 323i, plus this did better burnouts! in fact I once melted through tarmac to the hardcore underneath in Kings Cross, maybe 2" deep! ( I was a hooligan back then!)
The paint was terrible (no rust, but matted & different shades of burgandy) so I decided to theme it on 1 of my favorite film cars... Mel Gibson drove it... but mine didnt have the fake supercharger sticking out the bonnet...(that was planned but it never happened!) got it yet? answers on a postcard ..
Anyhoo, in the years I was driving her she got written off 3 times for 3 very slight accidents, each time she got written off, I got £500! (she cost £150 when I got her, not a bad return!) which was just invested in more matt black aerosols!
I also went to Devon in her with 3 mates & luggage on holiday, 300 miles in 3 hours! (& bear in mind 1/2 the journey isnt on motorways!) She really could shift bless her...
In her time with me we got through 2 or 3 axles & 4 gearboxes(it was an incredibly torquey engine, so torquey it could push a fully loaded skip sideways) but unfortunately the driveline couldnt handle it, by this point (mid 90`s) they were getting very rare, it took so long to locate a 5th gearbox that the rest of it had deteriorated to the point of needing a full restoration, the project was shelved, she was pushed about from here to there but I never had the time. She was taken last year(2007) from a lock up (along with a crashed 3.0 Senator that she was going to get mated with) & I still get upset about it...
I`m guessing she ended up weighed in for scrap or maybe even being banger raced.
If anyone`s seen her, let me know!
RIP Victor Simpson, your missed & still remembered by many.

The Qi are observers of the universe and they do most of their observing in the versatile Hakidosha, a warship, a cruiser, a fat ride.
