I saw this danish when I was shopping for cakes for Mother’s Day. It was very last minute because I totally forgotten about it (LOL). I ended up just getting of tarts and danish because they looked so good!

I’m very happy with the decision. I bought these online, and the product looked nothing like the sample photo — because it looked 10x better than the product shot.

It also tastes very yummy.

When Paper Stone Bakery first came popping up in Hong Kong, I thought that it was an import. I eventually found out that it’s owned by Maxim’s, a food and beverage conglomerate in Hong Kong.

There isn’t a whole lot written about this place, but I see it as a bakery concept that focuses on making artisan bread, but with a more mass market appeal. It is slightly more expensive than the truly local mom and pop shops, but the quality is decent and relatively convenient.

I shot this at home against all the mess, so I masked out all the chaos in Photoshop. Thus the white background. Otherwise, it’s just a regular shot on the dinner table.

This could not have been possible if it's not for the sharpness of the prime lens!

The Ma On Shan Promenade is anurban waterfront park located in Ma On Shan, Hong Kong. The promenade spans 3.2 kilometers and covers an area of 5.2 hectares.

The promenade offers magnificent views of Sha Tin Hoi and the peaks of Pat Sin Leng, providing a panoramic vista of the sea and sky. It includes fitness stations, a jogging trail, and a bougainvillea garden.

It took this photo from my apartment looking down at the jogging trail.

This is what I eat every morning as well as late at night when I need a snack — Greek yogurt, with granola for texture, and dried fruits for natural sugar.

Chobani is my favorite Greek Yogurt brand. I learned about it many years ago ~2006 when I lived in New York. At the time, I was experimenting with frozen yogurt as a healthier alternative to ice cream.

Making homemade ice cream is something that I have been doing since 1995. It is something that I made a lot of. I love making ice cream because most of it is about making the perfect vanilla base and then throwing whatever you want into it to make it special.

The perfect vanilla ice cream I make requires 12 egg yolks per quart. It’s not for the faint of heart. You’d be full with just two spoonful.

To make frozen yogurt, you need yogurt. If you use regular yogurt, you need to first strain them with cheese cloth, which takes a long time. That’s why I usually just buy greek yogurt to speed up the process.

But then I realized that it’s a fantastic product on its own, especially when mixed with granola and fruits. I used to buy all of these things separately, but when I discovered Kellogg’s having this dried fruits and granola mix, I started buy that instead.

Quick and simple. That’s how all food should be.

The cutest projector ever. I bought this to do a series of video projection with a pianist.

I saw some colorful Xiao Long Bao 小籠包 while looking for a place to eat in Grand Plaza, and decided to check it out.

2/ Specialty Dynasty Xiao Long Bao (8 flavors) 特色皇朝小籠包 (八色)

Xiaolongbao refers to a type of small Chinese steamed bun traditionally prepared in a xiaolong, a small bamboo steaming basket. Xiaolongbao are often referred to as a kind of "dumpling", but are distinct from Chinese jiaozi or wonton. [1]

1. 招牌原味 Signature Original

2. 芝士 Cheese

3. 蟹粉 Crab Roe

4. 蒜香 Garlic

5. 川味 Szechaun

6. 韓式泡菜 Korean Kimchi

7. 鵝肝 Foie Gras

8. 黑松露 Black Truffle

The signature original is definitely the best.

3/ Vinegar 醋 is the only condiment I need for Xiao Long Bao.

4/ But some people also prefer hot sauce and pepper.

Unusual item. Tasty. This pastry seems to be a modern interpretation of the traditional dish — Scallion pancakes 蔥油餅.

7/ 蘿蔔絲酥餅 Radish Pastry

Shredded daikon radish is thinly sliced and wrapped in pastry. Aka Turnip Puff Pastry, Radish Puff.

8/ 香煎豆沙鍋餅 Pan-fried Pancake with Red Bean Paste

Shanghainese dessert. One of my favorite desserts in Chinese cuisine. Often, I would intentionally dine in Shanghainese restaurants just so I know that I could order this dish.
