The Perito Moreno Glacier (Spanish: Glaciar Perito Moreno) is a glacier located in Los Glaciares National Park in southwest Santa Cruz Province, Argentina. It is one of the most important tourist attractions in the Argentine Patagonia.
The 250 km2 (97 sq mi) ice formation, 30 km (19 mi) in length, is one of 48 glaciers fed by the Southern Patagonian Ice Field located in the Andes system shared with Chile which has a small part of the origins of the glacier. This ice field is the world's third largest reserve of fresh water.
The Perito Moreno Glacier, located 78 kilometres (48 mi) from El Calafate, was named after the explorer Francisco Moreno, a pioneer who studied the region in the 19th century and played a major role in defending the territory of Argentina in the conflict surrounding the international border dispute with Chile.

13th annual D.U.M.B.O. Art Under the Bridge Festival® (Sept 25 to Sept 27, 2009)
www.dumboartfestival.org/press_release.html
The three-day multi-site neighborhood-wide event is a one-of-a-kind art happening: where serendipity meets the haphazard and where the unpredictable, spontaneous and downright weird thrive. The now teenage D.U.M.B.O. Art Under the Bridge Festival® presents touchable, accessible, and interactive art, on a scale that makes it the nation's largest urban forum for experimental art.
Art Under the Bridge is an opportunity for young artists to use any medium imaginable to create temporary projects on-the-spot everywhere and anywhere, completely transforming the Dumbo section of Brooklyn, New York, into a vibrant platform for self-expression. In addition to the 80+ projects throughout the historical post-industrial waterfront span, visitors can tour local artists' studios or check out the indoor video_dumbo, a non-stop program of cutting-edge video art from New York City and around the world.
The Dumbo Arts Center (DAC) has been the exclusive producer of the D.U.M.B.O Art Under the Bridge Festival® since 1997. DAC is a big impact, small non-profit, that in addition to its year-round gallery exhibitions, is committed to preserving Dumbo as a site in New York City where emerging visual artists can experiment in the public domain, while having unprecedented freedom and access to normally off-limit locations.

7D test-shot. Nothing interesting here really.
This is a glimpse into the very scary desktop of an ADHD-afflicted mind. That's about it. I do like the colors on the cigarette boxes though. I am planning to do a project just with those. There are some now, though not a whole lot.
This project started off with Cigarette Blossom and some time ago there was the Cancer Bowl. Weirdly some cancer hospital admin suggested that they would make for great photos at some anti-smoking headquarter.
Now I'm going out to take some *real* photos!!!

Fairytale Fashion
Diana Eng: As a fashion designer who works with science and technology, I've learned about some really amazing things. I've had some great experiences as a designer: sitting front row at fashion week, working at various fashion companies, researching at the University of Bath Mechanical Engineering Dept., being a designer on Project Runway, working in Victoriai's Secret Research and Development department, and co-founding NYC Resistor hacker group. When I was a little girl, I wish that my friends and I knew about some of the things I know today. We would have loved to play with them. Dress-up with super sparkling LED's. Imagining worlds made of deployable structures. I want to share all of the neat things I've learned, because no matter what your age, science and technology are always fun to play with.
You may not be able to sew or solder or draft a pattern or program a microcontroller. But that's okay because Fairytale Fashion is about imagining the possibilities. I will be trying my best to make them happen.

The forms from nature is never changing, and it comes as quickly as it goes. Sunset is a perfect time to do photography, so it helps to be living close to the action.
When I lived in New York, I did not really have a view, so I do not really get to take a lot of photographs like this. In that regard I am thankful for the place I am living right now.
It is quite spectacular, and I cherish every day of it.

I met Billy Clarke rather randomly—on Instagram.
Most people use social media as an extension of their existing real life contacts, I on the other hand do things in reverse. I find interesting people on social media and then proceed to make human contacts.
Although I have been on Flickr since 2006, I joined only recently in 2012 shortly after moving to Hong Kong. I discovered that Instagram is a great way to know what’s going on about any place quickly and so I think that I found Billy through the #HK tag.
Billy, who works as a writer for many publications in Hong Kong, has now become my eyes-and-years of Hong Kong. It is he who alerted me about USS Peleliu’s arrival at the Harbour City [1]. It was he who gave me the details about the rubber duck [2]. And it was he who told me about the M+ Inflatable sculptures [3].
Every photographer needs a source of good materials, and this 30yo writer in Hong Kong has more than enough to offer. Besides being a good trusty human database, he writes great articles on his blog and has a great sense of humor. Trust that I would be adventuring with him more in the future—stay tuned.

It is hard to decide which white point to balance to in total darkness. This is one the challenges I face everyday. It is very subjective. In rendering these I usually try to develop the mood which I seek. Having a POV matters. And yellow/magenta seems to work well for this foggy night.

And now we will take a short break from our food tour and take a look at the man behind the cheese.
I would like to apologize for the severe camera shake and the resulting motion blur. Unfortunately, I tend to get shaky when I encounter hot men... and no amount of USM could save that. Actually I think that I actually might have screwed it up. This might not show up soon...
I have been experimenting with using my own photography as a source image to influence image generation with Stable Diffusion. seeminglee.com/blog/serenity-ai-purple/
The rationale behind this is straightforward — I have taken lots of photos over the years, but the conditions under which they were taken were not always ideal. Photography is subject to a myriad of influencing factors, and even with a specific vision in mind, nature may not cooperate to allow that vision to be captured perfectly. Similarly, the ideal setting we imagine might simply not exist in reality.
That’s where the power of AI comes in. I’ve discovered its phenomenal ability to materialize the concepts I feed into it. A potential point of contention is that since these images are AI-generated, they might be perceived as the product of AI rather than my own creativity. This viewpoint occasionally arises among those unfamiliar with AI work. I personally disagree, but I’ll reserve that discussion for a separate post.
Considering these images are the fusion of my original photographs and my descriptive text prompts, the notion that they’re devoid of human creative input seems baseless. As such, in my opinion, they are completely entitled to copyright protection.
I plan on experimenting this further, exploring diverse series and themes. My archive is filled with photographs that I find intriguing but seem to be missing that final touch to elevate them. I’m optimistic that by leveraging text prompts, I’ll be able to address these shortcomings and conceive new creations that blend my photography and the power of imaginative prompting.

I usually play blitz, but lately I found that my skills would improve more if I play untimed games. This was played at Union Square while I waited to see a movie. I got to here then noted that I didn't have much time left before the movie starts, so I paid the guy three bucks, snapped this photo, and hopefully could resume from mid game another day.
I like color fields. They are also great for designs.
I believe that life celebrates diversity, and I think that photographs of the supposedly same multiples serve as evidence of the same philosophy.

Are you intimidated by large groups of people you don't know? Afraid to ask people for help or don't know how to sell yourself? Don't assume that your Yale education will open doors all by itself!
Networking is a skill that everyone needs to master in today's economy. The best way to improve any skill is to practice over drinks and conversation.
