They said I cannot fly

cannot grown wings

and touch the sky

I wanted to prove them wrong

so I took to the sky

and leapt.

Waves at Cape Disappointment and its lighthouse, Ilwaco, WA

Had to move out of the way quickly, but still got wet. Love how this explosion of white water framed the sea stack being hit by first light…. Combined with one of the winters best cloud decks, it made for a great session.

The Monticello Local smashes through a three foot snow bank while passing by the one of the last remaining sets of Griswold signals in Minnesota. A late spring snow storm dumped upwards of 16 inch of snow across the region over the weekend.

Colours in your face

Smashing at 400mm, WAMX 110 Is looking quite sharp amongst the magnificient colours of Northern Ontario, as it rounds the curve at Island Lake.

finally finished the holga roll and got out the chemicals which, remarkably, hadn't turned black. i also had to decipher how to get my scanner back on the new computer. my brain cells are in high gear with the learning curve. the pinched film screw-ups aren't intentional but i love the evidence of my m.o..

We're always smashing ideas together, colors, textures, builds, modifying and editing and all that other fun creative stuff that comes along with building a sim.

Thank you for your visits comments and favs! :-)

It was a smashing day, showers scudding , rays flaring, and clouds dancing on the wet sand, every direction competed for my attention. Smashing is by Ray LaMontagne. It's funny ,smashing is a word I associate with childhood, we had a smashing time, etc. I think it's a bit of a lost word.

This is what 45 mph winds do to Lake Michigan. In South Haven, on the eastern side of the lake, there was quite the surge.

While I am wishing that I had brought my 300mm or 600mm lens, this cropped picture shows the impact pretty well.

Feliz finde!!

Hoppers that came out of the coal fields of Southwest Pennsylvania on this trip are being routed to Virginia to load at a different mine after being emptied at a New Jersey power plant. It happens a handful of times a year with Norfolk Southern trains 506/507, and the routing sends them down the Lurgan Branch, luckily on this day in evening light. The leader is an ex-Conrail SD60I, and according to Altoonaworks.info it was built from an EMD kit at Juniata Locomotive Shop (Altoona) in 1995.

These three lads were amusing themselves by levering slabs of ice off the edge of Connaught Water in Epping Forest and hurling them out onto the frozen lake. Due to the total lack of friction between ice and ice, the shards often travelled a long way.

Portreath is a great spot to watch the waves smash in on a stormy day. The monkey hut on the front provides a good composition!

Galaxy phone breaks apart.

On the far side of Otago Peninsula from the harbour is Allans Beach with waves arriving from the south Pacific ocean.

Less than 2 hours to Friday here. Hope all is well with you.
