This picture was taken from the footbridge at Gravelly Hill station, from the above timings at about 14.15. according to the excellent Six Bells Junction website. Even in those less safety conscious times it is disconcerting to see the boys on the track in front of the loco. Peter had obviously nipped off the train for his picture but as the loco was off the end of the platform it was not worth getting the usual front 3/4, the train may have left without him!

I have tried to see what the film on the poster was but it is not sharp enough, this is the camera which produces tiny 33mm square negatives.

48930 was built at Crewe Works, it was a Webb class B 4 cylinder compound it entered service with the LNWR in April 1903 as number 1248. Under the LMS it was renumbered 8930 and in March 1932 it was rebuilt as a G1, it became a G2A in March 1943. 48930 was withdrawn 08/12/1962.

one of my favourite sportscars cars today, but in my opinion Mercedes should have limited the SLS, because now you see so much of it!

Nothing special .. just some usual traffic, and a yellow SLS //AMG

Ditch the roof,at two letters and voila, great car became even greater.

Thanks for watching.Comments, suggestions and faves are appreciated.

This picture was taken in the bay platform at Sutton Coldfield, it must have been just after arrival because the loco worked the train back tender first, the group at the tender are watching the fireman uncouple the loco. Although Peter did not leave any clue as to location one of the pictures on the excellent Six Bells Junction website shows us exactly where the train was.

Peter never printed this picture, although he liked people in his pictures I guess there were just too many. For us, 59 years on, the people and their style of dress are probably more interesting than the train.
