The 23.45 Paddington to Penzance sleeper service was replaced by an IET on the night of 1 and 2 of September 2025, a bit of a disappointment for me as I had planned to photograph it at Camborne! However, later on 2 September the ECS was worked as 5Z50, the 11.30 Reading Traincare Depot to Penzance TRSMD, it is seen approaching Scorrier with 57602 (Restormel Castle) leading and poking its head out into a patch of sunlight. On the left is the very busy A30 Trunk Road.
a simple, no-frills pony car. Nothing on the outside to indicate that lurking under the hood is a multi-carb'ed big block with a four-speed. Would you challenge it at the stoplight?
GBRf/Caledonian Sleeper Class 73 Nos. 73966+73970 leave the passing loop at Tomatin with 1S25, the 21:01 London Euston – Inverness overnight sleeper on 19th July 2021.
On November 1, 2024, JR East performed a rare mileage trip in Eastern Tokyo with their sleeper train set, the Cassiopeia. This train had two equally rare EF81 electric locomotives bracketing the sleeper, and would travel from Ueno to Toride twice, touching a mix of freight only tracks along the way.
Despite the cloudy weather, a sea of railfans came out to shoot the train at multiple locations. Considering that these locomotives and even the Cassiopeia is likely to retire in the next few years, the crowds were definitely understandable.

The sun is seen setting on 86 101 at Wembley. 86 101 has the honour of dropping onto and hauling the last ever set of MK3 sleeper coaches out of the carriage sheds and into service on the last ever MK3 Highlander Northbound sleeper service before the new MK5s take over. The MK3 set is seen bordered by two sets of Mk5 sleeper rakes with one either side. 92 028 is seen on a new set of MK5s having a few shakedown tests before tommorow night when they go into service on the Highlander.

Not something you see every day - Colas Rail's 70804 heads south from Carnoustie with the empty coaches from the previous nights 1A25 Euston to Aberdeen which had been declared a failure in Carnoustie station some 3 hours earlier.
The disgraced 73968 can just be seen on the rear of the consist.
The cl 70 had been removed from 6A34 Barassie to Aberdeen Waterloo which was held behind in Dundee.
The Sleepers
"No map traces the street
Where those two sleepers are.
We have lost track of it.
They lie as if under water
In a blue, unchanging light,
The French window ajar
Curtained with yellow lace.
Through the narrow crack
Odors of wet earth rise.
The snail leaves a silver track;
Dark thickets hedge the house.
We take a backward look.
Among petals pale as death
And leaves steadfast in shape
They sleep on, mouth to mouth.
A white mist is going up.
The small green nostrils breathe,
And they turn in their sleep.
Ousted from that warm bed
We are a dream they dream.
Their eyelids keep up the shade.
No harm can come to them.
We cast our skins and slide
Into another time."

Making the Old Street roundabout area your bedroom is not recommended, but more than ever, have no choice.
The amount of street sleepers gets greater & in areas where i have never noticed it before now , from Hounslow to Havering & Harrow to Hither Green, the city of H`s is now synonymous with another.
