We all pursue happiness, but don’t often think about chasing simplicity. Perhaps happiness could come more often if we were simple. Simple is – if you think about it – quite complicated. Often people misidentify simple through thick glasses of their prejudices as some kind of retardation where the soul has failed to mature. But to be simple, one must be mature enough to know what truly matters. And therein lies the complexity. Amidst the outer world vibrant with sensory stimuli and the inner world full of bittersweet memories, what do we choose to keep and how much can we realistically discard? Perhaps simplicity spans a spectrum where one end is the heart of a child and the other is the mind of a saint. Everyone, on most days, exist somewhere in between those extremities.
So, the question is, how simple are you?
I have been looking for minimalist photo opportunities recently during my adventures.
I came across this unassuming rock, just as the morning sun began glowing through the thick morning fog. It ticked all the boxes, grabbed the camera and captured this.
Simplicity 4236. This one doesn't thrill me like I wanted it to...my fault, not the pattern! Should have chosen a fabric with less body. Still...look at that mod print!!

I love the serene quietness in this image, its simplicity and almost zen-garden-like quality make me pause and admire nature and creation. It almost conveys the japanese aesthetic principle of Wabi & Sabi loosely translated as; simplicity and and appreciation of the ingenuous integrity of natural objects

This beautiful golden retriever was watching the sunset and seemed to be enjoying the moment very much!
A gentle sunset surf on the shores of Lake Erie as seen from where I stood on Kelleys Island. Photo taken two years ago. For some reason, people tend to mistakenly think this lake is the ocean or the sea ... I can tell who's observant and who's not when it comes to reading my description and tags. * lol *
