My bike ride and walk yesterday was to try and see my first adders of the year. It was a lovely sunny day, so I was delighted to spot a couple of lizards, and four adders. It's always a great start to the year when adders start showing. today's undertaking is to go out again and see what's about. Today's Undertaking is by M Ward.
Thanks to everyone that views and comments on my images - very much appreciated.

Sometimes just being there for someone to lean on is showing support. Whether that person is like the limp vine that is tired and spent or the person needs help to stay strong and tall like the ice, we all need a little support now and then. Happy Fence Friday!
An outdoor exhibition on the South Bank of the Thames about a boat race takes the interest of an old mariner (me thinks).

I think he was trying to impress the Lady that was a bit further along the branch.

This is a red Hawthorn tree in the garden. The flowers are always stunning and eye catching with their bright colour. A cheery addition in the Spring.
I spent a couple of happy hours at Sussex Prairie Garden this afternoon, where the Daylilies are looking stunning at the moment. They're not what you'd call shy flowers. I love them. :)

Happy Bokeh Wednesday!
I'm taking flowers from the garden before the gales and colder nights claim them!
My only purple hydrangea was just a few dead stalks after the long hard winter ... and I thought it was dead. But nature is amazingly resilient, and it has given us some flowers again!
The vase is a miniature hand-thrown made by Yuta Segawa in London.

FROM WIKIPEDIA:
California's Red Rock Canyon State Park features scenic desert cliffs, buttes and spectacular rock formations. The park is located where the southernmost tip of the Sierra Nevada converges with the El Paso Mountains.
Each tributary canyon is unique, with vivid colors. After wet winters, the park's floral displays are notable. Wildlife includes roadrunners, hawks, lizards, mice and squirrels.
Red Rock Canyon is an approximately 27,000 acres unit within the Mojave Sector of the Tehachapi District of the California State Park System, located along State Highway 14 in Kern County, about 80 miles east of Bakersfield.
