After showing you a view of Sanssouci Park's Orangery Palace from the lawn in front of the stairs leading up to the Palace, I thought you might be interested in a view of the main level of the Orangery Palace building ensemble. There won't be any newer images from the Orangery Palace than the ones from my 2018 visit, because when I checked Sanssouci Park's website for some extra information about the Orangery, I learned that the entire place – the palace, the plant halls, and the adjacent areas – are closed for renovation. Work started in 2019 and will last until 2029 (!), so my 2018 visit was a lucky one. Unfortunately, I hadn't visited the Palace's interior back then, so that's definitely a missed opportunity because the interior will be redesigned as an event location. Everything according to heritage protection, I assume, because you don't mess with UNESCO World Heritage status, but it still will be different. The heritage protection is probably also the reason why the renovation takes so long.
For Sliders Sunday, I've chosen a postcard-style edit with a vintage look for this sunny scene. In a way, these photos are already vintage, especially in the light of the ongoing renovation. This also turns this image's five-year hard drive slumber into a short nap. This image had still been totally untouched (and quite a few more photos from that visit still are) because back then I couldn't see their potential. So I'm glad I'd finally decided to upload the "Green Arrow" (my previous image) because that made me take another look at the "Sanssouci 2018" folder. Btw, one thing I've only noticed now when looking at the photo, not when I took the photo, is the fellow photographer (I don't know him) ;) I also decided to leave the two persons on the bench in the image, because they are half hidden by the fountain, and I think they also add to the relaxed and happy atmosphere.
Happy Sliders Sunday, Everyone!
A grainy photo showing an Inuit camp at night on an island in lake Tasiujaq (formerly Richmond Gulf and Lac Guillaume-Delisle), Nunavik, Canada.
Lake (lac) Tasiujaq drains several large rivers and is bordered on its west shore by steep cliffs (Hudsonian Cuestas) that are the highest in the province of Quebec.
Lake Tasiujaq is a vast brackish water lake with a narrow opening (called the Goulet) between cuestas to Hudson’s Bay. A large volume of water surges through this bottleneck and is driven by the rise and fall of the tides. The powerful flow ensures that the waters of the Goulet never freeze in winter. Lake Tasiujaq is one of the largest natural lakes in Quebec and is included in the boundaries of Tursujuq national park.

There were a few Osprey fishing, but this one just had to swoop down and catch two at one time showing off in front of the other Osprey's and photographers. Bear Swamp, Bombay Hook DEL.
I was sitting on a bench near the pier reviewing my pictures when this guy shows up. There was a group of other pigeons hanging around and he wanted to put on a show. He fluffed out his wings and danced around. But they must not have been too impressed because most of them flew off. 😂 I was still sitting there so he walked over toward me to see if he could get my attention. So naturally I took his picture.

Yes, it is a section of a peacock displaying those amazing showy tail feathers - given a little treatment for Slider Sunday!
The double-crested cormorant is not fully appreciated by many visitors to Circle B Bar Reserve near Lakeland, Florida, but we could not resist this pose in just the right location for a photographer . . . he measures about 32-33 inches (81-84 cm) from beak-tip to tail-tip.

Just opened. This Iris survived after three others had the stems broken by birds or squirrels. It is an iris. I bought a couple of years ago and always look forward to the blooming.
Only one Bloom this year.
Another shot of the Black redstart that's hanging around at Brean down cove. Very good of him to turn his tail to the camera showing its gorgeous red colour. :@)
Who knew that birds have eyelashes? This young Burrowing Owl is showing off her eyelashes, made of small feathers. Flirting I think.

I was taking a stroll through our local park when the scene begged to be shot. No tri-pod no editng just Natures beauty.
The Great Blue Heron is beautiful anytime of the year but during the courting season he gets a blue tinge around the eye and the beak gets more vibrant in color. It is truly amazing the changes that occur during the mating season and oh so beautiful to see. Each species has their own way of attracting their mate and each one is more beautiful than the next !! How I love nature and all it's beauty !!
Wishing you a lovely and blessed evening !!!

This dark, long-bodied diving bird floats low in the water with its thin neck and bill raised; perches upright near water with wings half-spread to dry. The Double-crested (which rarely looks noticeably crested in the field) is the most generally distributed cormorant in North America, and the only one likely to be seen inland in most areas
Thanks for visiting. Have a great day :).
