Bosphorus 20th October 2017

The summer season is in full swing for large Cruise Ships coming into the Port of Vancouver and going up to Alaska and other areas. The small red life raft in this shot is really dwarfed by this huge ship as it passes under the Lions Gate Bridge,

The bridge links the City of Vancouver through Stanley Park with the twin cities of West and North Vancouver. The red cranes in the background are in North Vancouver and as the ships head up to Alaska they are going through what is called the Burrard Inlet before they head out to the open seas of the Pacific Ocean waters.

yeah we still have some Vikings in Norway. This is an operational Viking ship, a replica of the famous Oseberg ship. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oseberg_Ship

So I'm sitting in an expensive movie and beautiful theater on vacation in Kansas watching Oblivion, and I see the Bubble VTOL flying through clouds. I said to myself I have to build this, and starting working on design ideas immediately. However I soon lost myself in the extremely awesome and complex plot. I was on the edge of my seat for most of it, and Tom Cruise performed brilliantly. Its definitely my favorite Tom Cruise film.

A big thanks to Evan (Lego Junkie) for giving me a couple of great suggestions.

Perhaps the only big inaccuracy on this compared the real deal is there are no guns on the cockpit. I'm just enough of a Lego genius to figure out how to do that...wait, I might have some idea..oh well!

Enjoy and God Bless!

While I'm not a real fan of sailing ships I did like the way this shot came out after a bit of cropping. Can't tell you what her name is, all I know is that she was coming into St. Kitts.

"Dar Młodzieży (Polish: Gift of the Youth) is a Polish sail training ship designed by Zygmunt Choreń. A prototype of a class of six, the following five slightly-differing units were built subsequently by the same shipyard for the merchant fleet of the former Soviet Union. Her sister ships are Mir, Druzhba, Pallada, Khersones and Nadezhda.

The ship was launched in November 1981 at the Gdańsk shipyard, Poland, and commissioned for service in July 1982 at Gdynia, thus replacing her forerunner Dar Pomorza. Her home port is Gdynia. The Dar Młodzieży is the first Polish-built, ocean-going sailing vessel to circumnavigate the globe (1987–88), thus repeating the famous voyage of her predecessor (1934–35)." (Wiki)
