These are rescue shelters for travelers. If there is a bad weather, broken car or lost tourist, the people can look for a shelter in these sheds / houses. They are open for everyone. There are many people traveling around Icelandic nature in different weather and then the rescue shelter can be handy. This wonderful quiet location is located near ÓlafsvÃk. It is situated near the western end of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula.
This is my reimagined composition of a refugee shelter in Almere (NL). I loved playing with the rhythmic repetition of identical living units, each personalized by their inhabitants by window dressings and objects in front of the facade. I also kept in the little boy that was playing on the balcony (top left) in a matching orange t-shirt.
This image is part of my current exhibition in Almere, The Netherlands, open until 9 April 2023. More information:

Seeking shelter.
It is anchored in the quiet sanctuary that is offered by the marina.
With a heavy cloud formation is slowly gathering overhead it is not likely that the small vessel will be leaving its sanctuary for the sea anytime soon.
