These are guillemots who were high up on the rocks on Puffin Island. I was scanning the rocks to see if I could spot a puffin but no just these birds masquerading as penguins - lol
Minnie shouldn´t sit on this small shelf as it is fixed on the wall and Minnie with her weight of about 4,5 kg is maybe too heavy for it. But she likes to do so. She jumpes on the big cupboard and then walks along and with a little jump she is on the small shelf.
Eigentlich soll Minnie gar nicht auf diesem kleinen Regal sitzen, weil es in der Wand befestigt ist und evtl. nicht Minnies Gewicht von immerhin ca. 4,5 kg aushält;-) Aber sie liebt es! Sie springt auf den grossen Schrank und läuft dann einfach weiter, mit einem grossen Schritt ist sie dann auf dem Regal.

we witnessed in June of this year, during a worldwide pandemic.
Was hard to believe that after 'this-shot' above, my first photo,
it would turn into the most amazing extreme-weather shoot

Macro Mondays-Best With Holiday Is....Decorations!
My little Shelf Elf is one of my favourite Christmas decorations!
Looking downslope on the south side of Atigun Pass from Chandalar Shelf, in the Brooks Range in northern Alaska.
Below, in that dirt wide spot in the road, (chain-up area for trucks headed up Atigun in winter) is where 'the farthest north spruce tree' is located.
Treeline here is 2500 feet. In contrast, Alberta CA is 7500 feet, Colorado is 12,000 feet, and Ecuador, near the Equator, is 19,000 feet.
I ended up getting soaked after this capture. Crazy shelf cloud over the city of Toronto from the Leslie Street Spit today.

I deployed my Mavic 3 drone in stiff but manageable wind to document this incoming shelf cloud over Aransas Bay on the middle Texas coast. Alas - this promising system produced almost no rain for our area...but, it did put on a show!

I'm going to stay on this 'great-night' for a while, if you don't
mind. I got far too many 'great-keepers' to let them pass and
get buried in the archives. It was the best night of the year
(so far) with its amazing sunset/weather-phenomena and the
shelf-cloud. Only the second shelf-cloud I've ever seen in South
Florida. So bear with me for a little while, and thanks for looking.

Do not mess with the police cats when they are at work! They are serious about protecting that shelf from invaders!
This was what it looked like just under the leading edge of a prominent shelf cloud on May 18th, 2019 in west central Oklahoma. The front view was incredible too, but we couldn't manage to get ahead of it.
