Cornerstone laid August 27, 1913. C,H. Hibbs designed the building. Lincoln County was created February 20, 1911 but not organized until January 6, 1913. Until 1925, when the current courthouse was constructed a few blocks away, the county shared space in the town hall.
Still a problem for pedestrians to cross this allegedly shared space road. Crossed at the spot by the bicycle just before taking the photograph. It took a long while before any car gave way and one coming in the other direction had no intention of stopping or staying within the 20 mph limit even when I was in the road itself. Watched other pedestrians having similar experiences.

A little cyclist/pedestrian tension on London's South Bank (albeit in a very understated English way).

Social inequalities are evident in Rio, previously invisible, slums grow and share space with luxury buildings. Now they live side by side, and share, even in different levels, the worries about security, living cost and many other urban issues. A black man face sculpted on the wall looks to the Copacabana apartments on the other side of the street. Rio de Janeiro, August 2014.
The project named “Complexes” is a try to show the social inequality in Rio, where you can see the change from a world famous postcard to a poor community in few minutes of walking. Rio is one of the most known cities in the world, but this status is not benefiting the favela residents, the violence and drugs traffic is still there, even being masked by government actions. This project is a try to put in evidence some of this contrasts, establishing a closer contact with people, without official intermediates, searching for the truth of everyday life, and is something that I`ll certainly keep updating for the next years.

More than the hobbyists’ pursuit, maker communities are disrupting manufacturing. Shared spaces offer a new amalgam of craft, industry and technology, where both tools and knowledge are pooled. July's Friday Late invited visitors to resist mass production and uncover how hacked machines and open source design are changing the way we make and live.

This hallway will basically be shared space between the apartment downstairs and the rest of the house, since there's a storage room down here.

And don't worry, we still have all the letterpress equipment, we're just keeping it at our old location for the time being (it's a little difficult to bring a 4,000 press up this flight of stairs over here).

Shared space within the Chinese subway. Never has humanity been so close, and perhaps unaware of itself as inside the subway. China, communism.. Communism is a big word, concept and theory. However there is a part of that word, commune, which embodies the idea of the human race living together peacefully as a sort of family. In China strangers will address each other as brother, sister, uncle, aunt, grandfather, etc. . Fundamentals of communism within China can be debated elsewhere, however what occurs on the subway is a raw form of humanity, so close and yet so unaware and unrelenting. Have you ever seen a family meeting where every child stands near their mother or father and not once says hello or offers a hug of affection? These family reunions happen daily in each subway car. Within the tight subway space, in-between every stop people become so close, yet so far. As individual daily goals of being good producers and consumers ar striven for, the structure of humanity remains, like an empty undeveloped buildings concrete shell. Growing so fast, close, and yet far apart; what will humanities ultimately fate develop into?
