We were up early for a Winter Bird Count and found that the moon had not yet set. This is a few days after the full moon (Snow Moon).

An early morning stock move from Carlisle Kingmoor to Burton behind work worn DRS 37716 was potentially worth photting this morning.
I was aware it was to be six 'coffins' but was not prepared for three of them being the 'scabbiest' I have ever encountered! Not sure why this move came about but I am sure somebody out there knows?

A break from the humdrum of work on Wednesday afternoon this week and some decent light and traction floating around, not including 31233 and a missed Flying Scotsman.
Starting with 3/4 of an hour at Beighton Junction with 31233, 66094, 66418, 66519 and 66738 a trip down to Tesco at Chestefield with 56103 and 66128 thrown in and it was a good couple of hours peace and quiet in the fresh air and away from work.
The last weeks couple of panics over, but still not much time for railways, but a pleasant interlude.
