This buddy was trying to tell me, that I was way to close to his nest! And for good reason! As soon as I turned up and the lapwings started chasing me away, magpies swooped down and feasted on the eggs. However, the lapwings managed to save one of the eggs, and I could hardly believe my eyes, when one of the parent birds picked up the egg and air-lifted it to safety.
