Here is Scott, Steven Stills and Kim, based on the graphic novels by Brian Lee O'Malley... decals and Kim's hair by me. Guitars and drum sticks by brickforge. Faces by TLC cos I chickened out of making them from scratch... face decals irritate me. I'm maybe going to use Ginny's face (from the burrows) for Kim when I get it at the weekend. There's always room for improvement but well, I'm pretty happy. and yes, more characters are in the pipeline... I'm waiting on a certain lady's hair to dry...

Being huge fans of the comics and the movie, we were intensely excited for the beat-'em-up xbox game. And hey, I can't look at anything pixellated without wanting to stitch it... so I did!

Screwed up on my counting somewhere on his arm, but was too lazy to rip out the stitches so I just worked around it. Sometimes you just have to deal with mistakes. You know, in case you thought it looked a little wonky.

I've had an XBox 360 for almost two years, but only just recently acquired a hard drive for it, a hand-me-down 20GB hard drive from my brother (since he got a new one that's something like 120GB), which enabled me to finally install the backwards-compatability patch for the 360 that'll let you play selected XBox original titles.

So I've been buying used original XBox games super-cheap at EB Games and Microplay; mostly driving games, like the original Forza Motorsports, the first two Project Gotham Racing games ("first two" not counting the original Metropolis Street Racer on the Dreamcast, of course), Sega's Out Run 2, and also Sega GT 2002, which was combined with another Sega game, Jet Set Radio Future into a 2-in-1 disk that was a pack-in disk with some specific XBox console packages.

Jet Set Radio Future is a game about some rollerblading kids in a super-stylized version of Tokyo in the future. The main thing you do at the beginning of most levels is spraypaint graffiti around the levels, to egg on evil gangs and fascist security guards alike. There's some default graffiti, but you can also create your own custom graffiti, so I decided to draw Canadian comic book artist Bryan Lee O'Malley's most famous character, Scott Pilgrim, currently being adapted by Shaun of the Dead director Edgar Wright into a major motion picture from Universal starring Michael Cera, because, what with all of the videogame references in the comic, I thought it would be neat to see Scott in an actual videogame, even if it's just on a wall.

The drawing is based on the picture on the cover of the fourth volume, Scott Pilgrim Gets It Together. It took me about two hours, since it's very, very hard to draw with the XBox 360 controller, especially when the graffiti paint application within the game doesn't have basic image editing software tools like lines and shapes.

You do wonder what they might be chopping off...

Please tell me if they were instantly recognizable or not. My suspicion is Ramona isn't (which is a shame. Unfortunately I couldn't get goggles to stay on her hair, even stretched).

I've been meaning to do this for a while, and I was inspired by my homie Jeope to give it a go.

If I've learned anything from this, it's that I need to clean out my bag regularly.

Casa Loma is a Gothic Revival-style mansion designed by architect E.J. Lennox for financier Sir Henry Mill Pellatt. It was constructed from 1911 to 1914. It's basically Toronto's equivalent of the Hearst Castle.

Casa Loma sits atop the Scarborough Bluffs, an escarpment that was the former shoreline of Glacial Lake Iroquois, left behind after the last Ice Age. At the time it was built, it was a getaway from the bustle of Toronto, though, today, it's surrounded by the city. The tower offers a gorgeous panoramic vista of central Toronto, though you have to climb up a narrow and steep spiral staircase to appreciate the view.

Casa Loma has been used as a mansion or fancy institutional setting in many Hollywood productions shot in Toronto, such as X-Men, Chicago, and Cocktail, though Casa Loma played itself in Edgar Wright's 2010 film adaptation of Bryan Lee O'Malley's Scott Pilgrim vs. the World graphic novel series.

The $20.50 admission fee (for an adult) is a little steep, but it's well-worth it if you'd like to see the interior of an majestic yet eccentric Edwardian mansion.

Apparently this entire movie was shot in Toronto and tourism officials are hoping it will bring a lot of tourists to the city. The city even setup this website to go along with the movie.
