Scavenger Challenge March #18 - What do mailboxes/postboxes look like in your area? Novel or plain, show us!
As promised yesterday, here's the entire MOC! The teaser I posted yesterday was met with enormous success, so hopefully this will be similarly well recieved. I'm not super big on the post-apocalyptic genre, but I have a goal to build on every major Lego genre, and apocalyptic was one I hadn't built in yet. It took a surprisingly long time to build, taking almost a month and becoming my second longest-taking MOC ever. Hopefully it was worth it though and you like it!
"What have we got here..."
Hey guys! Got inspired to make this custom guy, and decided to take a picture with him. Sorry for hopping around between different factions, just a lot of inspiration coming in. :) Hope u guys like this! God Bless! :)
(Unknown), Family:Sepsidae
4mm dipteran fly, shot with diffused internal flash.
Sepsidae are a moderately large, cosmopolitan family of saprophagous flies with species recorded from all zoogeographic regions. Most species have slender, ant-like profiles, ranging from 2-6mm in length, with bead-like heads, petiolate abdomina and relatively few setae. Sepsids are active flies, with a characteristic rapid gait accompanied by lateral wing waving. The majority of sepsids are attracted to dung and/or carrion. Sepsid courtship is a rigorous affair, with shaking, leg taps, sternite brush stimulation, and even 'kissing'.
Wikipedia: The Sepsidae are a family of flies, commonly called the black scavenger flies or ensign flies. Over 300 species are described worldwide. They are usually found around dung or decaying plant and animal material. Many species resemble ants, having a "waist" and glossy black body. Many Sepsidae have a curious wing-waving habit made more apparent by dark patches at the wing end.
Many species have a very wide distribution, reflecting the coprophagous habit of most Sepsidae. Some species have been spread over large territories in association with livestock. Adult flies are found mostly on mammal excrement, including that of humans (less often on other rotting organic matter), where eggs are laid and larvae develop, and on nearby vegetation, carrion, fermenting tree sap, and shrubs and herbs.
Many Sepsidae apparently play an important biological role as decomposers of mammal and other animal excrement. Some species may have a limited hygienic importance because of their association with human feces. Others are useful tools in forensic entomology.
To those of you who follow my Instagram account, this may look familiar, but to the rest of you, this is my post apocalyptic Fallout 4-inspired Scavenger.
I really wanted to put to use some of Richard's (R.Goff1's) sculpts that I had received, and it felt only right to pair it up with one of these Amazing Armory helmets (which some of you may recognise as something I used to use a lot!)
Also tried something a bit different with the rust effects, let me know what your thoughts are!
I hope you guys like the figure!
Piece of a cross arm from a power pole cut down in hopes of stealing copper wire from the power lines. Unfortunately for the scavengers, the lines are steel not more valuable copper.
Fortunately for the rest of us this power system has been inactive since the late seventies. It is part of the massive electrical system with hundreds of poles that once served the 3,450 acre Green River Launch Complex and Missile Base in Emery County, Utah.

Star Wars Factions RPG: A Galaxy Divided
[S5 - Raxus Prime - CE]
The situation was not well under control on Raxus Prime.
That was what the Governor of Scrapper Guild worried about, the uprising of local scavengers.
Over the past weeks, there had been several terrorist attacks to the facilities, killing dozens of slaves/workers. The local Rodian Scavenger Group organised those attacks. They had been operating in the system even before the Clone Wars and would not allow the Scrapper Guild to take their scrapyards without a fight.
CrimSec had deployed troops from the Garrison in an attempt to wipe out the scavengers' camp, but suffered heavy losses due to harsh terrain of the toxic wasteland.
There were Rodian Heavy Defenders, guarding the camp's high ground with rotary cannons.
Rodian Rippers came out from nowhere and stabbed the troopers with their bladed arms.
And of course, angry Jawas with flamethrowers.
The next attack was going to be leaded by Commander Irivan. To his surprise, Inquisitor Ereon Tas had come to join the battle. It was known among the Crim Empire that this mysterious Inquisitor stationed in Korriban for a long time. He would only send out his Royal Guards, Assassins and Nightsisters/Cultists on missions.
IRIVAN: Thank you for joining the battle. With our combined strength, we will secure Raxus Prime shortly. But may I ask, what brings you to this garbage pit ?
EREON TAS: The local scavengers are far more organised than Imperial records indicated, someone powerful is behind them.
IRIVAN: Do you mean, a Jedi ?
EREON TAS: Not an ordinary Jedi. I am looking for a Droid.

Inspired by my most favourite game of all time, The Force Unleashed.
Thank you for reading.
This is rather interesting. This image is about an hour and 45 minutes after my turkey vulture/gull/fish image. It's quite a distance from where that image was taken, but I'm guessing it's the same fish carcass, now 100 minutes more tattered and chewed on. Likely the same patient Western Gull too I guess. Never occurred to me when I was looking at the day's take till a few of my Flickr friends wondered who would get the finish. Sundown closing in now.
The Scavenger type is a lot more spartan than the Explorer, a less comfort, more laserz kinda thing.
I'm swapping the legs between different walker chassis so that I can maybe get two colourways out of each body type. So far I've got yellow, dark red and blue legs so next I want to build an orange/blue legs and a white/blue legs Strydor and then come back to do something else with the yellow maybe.
Shot for Macro Mondays, theme "String".
I spotted this in the woods while walking my dog. I guess it is part of a scavenger hunt, I cannot think of any other explanation....

For July's Monthly Scavenger Hunt.
Many a traveller of the sandy wastes of Tatooine falls foul to these vicious scavengers. Be wary.
Oh, and if you're interested, I have a little book of Stormtroopers out on Blurb!

Surprise, surprise, I'm not dead! Just been really busy with schoolwork. I'll continue to try to create and upload as much as possible.
Hope you enjoyed!
Grids!
.
Part of the last scavenger hunt was to create a grid (if you shot all 9 words). I didn't create anything special with my grid, but many scavengers did!
.
Here's my grid below.

Fits a fig! I have 7 mechs built now and am quickly running out of useful parts... Scrap time soon ;_;
During our walk on the pier we saw lots of people fishing. And there were also lots of birds hanging around scavenging for food, like dropped bait or handouts.
This one bold bird came right up next to us, staring at a man baiting his hook just a few feet away.
Not exactly sure what these birds are, but there are LOTS of them hanging around, and they are extremely noisy. They remind me of Grackles except these are brown, and the only Grackles I've ever seen are that iridescent black.
