SInce I've had Lilah my hormones have been all over the place. I have been either nursing or pregnant or both at the same time for 3 years straight. I am a SAHM of 3 girls under the age of 5. Some people tell my husband and I that we did everything backwards, having a child before marriage, Daniel being in college until a year ago and now establishing his career and many other things. Honestly I feel like for us it has been what makes us such a close family. Somedays I cry, somedays I laugh and somedays I want to pull my hair out...but not once do I wish my life was any different. Our life is so full of happiness and love with our little girls and Daniel is my best friend and I am so GRATEFUL we did it "backwards". It's the right way for us!

I loved this for Home because as a SAHM I spend ALOT of time in the kitchen and this little one is often sitting on the counter with me. Maybe to get away from big brother's pestering or maybe to sneak a bite before it's dinner time but I adore her up there with me!
There's a mural dedicated to Manuel Castillo at the A-Amigo Bail Bonds. I'm trying to figure out the exact artist who put together this amazing piece of work.
FUTAB probably doesn't mean to me what it means to most...Since I'm a SAHM, my days don't really change from the week days to the weekend... Oh well, I still like the concept. I do like weekends mainly because it means for hubby time!

These are pouches I made and they have become a big hit with local buyers.
This was a custom order I did for a woman for her friends a holiday gifts.
They can be ornaments, gift card holders or pin prick the bag and use it as a cedar sachet placed in a special drawer or hung in a closet
Let me know and i can put a kit together for you to make yourself cedar included...they whip up fast! And it's so therapeutic sewing on wool! It's like butter!
If you are of a certain age (like me), you may remember "She's About a Mover" by the Sir Douglas Quintet - a hit in 1965. The band's producer thought they should cash-in on the "British" invasion, hence the name. In reality, they were all Texans. They later became The Texas Tornados - this album is from 1976 and was recorded in Houston, TX.

My little town hosted Shaw Sahm and Friends (Shawn is the son of Doug Sahm the lead singer of the Sir Douglas Quintet and the Texas Tornados.) This is just three of the six musicians on the stage - left to right: Shawn Sahm, Joe "King" Carassco and Michael Guerra of the Mavericks. We danced all night!

Yes, those are parrots grazing, up on Doug Sahm hill, overlooking Town Lake. Someone introduced Monk Parrots to Austin in the 70s, and now Austin has several flocks. I consider it good luck to see them. The flocks by my office a a bit problematic; they've caused power grid failures because they prefer to nest atop utility poles.

Anton Sahm (born 1891; died 1969) was a German-Austrian photographer who lived in Munich from 1919.
Vienna, Budapest, Paris and Munich were Sahm's places of training and activity. He had been self-employed since 1913. Sahm started out working for the well known Viennese photographers Dora Kallmus (Madame D'Ora) and Carl Pietzner in the 1910s, before in 1919 he settled in Munich and opened a studio for portrait, theatre and nude photography in Türkenstraße, which became very well-known over the years, particularly in the 1920s. In 1969 his son Walter Sahm took over the studio, and after him Toni Sahm.
We couldn't find information on Betty Steger and neither on Aldo Dayelma, but in the late 1920s and early 1930s there was a famous Dayelma Ballet group, that performed e.g. at the Berlin Wintergarten. The later film actress Marianne Winkelstern was discovered among them by Erik Charell.

A little after Sofia was born, a family member gave me this baby activity book by Gymboree as a present. She knew I'd love it and put it to good use. And I have. I have a planner for Sofia. I go through the book and pick between 3-5 fun activities for her and I to do together everyday and write them down on the planner. I do this for the whole week. To keep her busy and just help her develop skills. Yesterday it was "paint a watercolor outside" day. (One of the activities anyway) and she loved it! This is the first time I just let her go crazy with it. Now we have a lovely painting she created by the front of our door! LOL I love this book and recommend it to all the mommies out there. Specially if you're a SAHM like myself. =)
Today we get to do footprints with paint. This way we can frame them and look back years later and compare the size of her feet! haha

At the same time, the handwritten notation on the back of the card (see below) reveals that it also served as an attendance reward for a student who only missed a few days of instruction during the 1893-1894 school year.

I'm a little worried I'm taking on a bit too much at the moment. In addition to my very full time job as a SAHM to two small children, I'm also trying to juggle:
My breastfeeding counsellor training. I had a tutorial this morning and am feeling all fired up about it again, but I struggle to create the time in between tutorials to do the reading, get on with assignments and even just to get my head around how the course works.
Becoming a Pampered Chef consultant. My first show is tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to getting into the swing of it, interacting with grown ups with no children around, sharing my enthusiasm for some of their cool gadgets & products, and bringing a little money into the household. I'm also terrified and seriously disorganised as I can't find the time to properly go through the materials they've given me. I'm worried that I won't get many shows set up - and then worried that it'll take over my life if I do!
and of course, HPAD-ing. 3 years in and I'm still loving it. I'm thrilled with my previous sets but feel I've set myself high standards and need/want to keep on challenging myself and my photography skills.
