Some of their dreams came true

Some just passed away

And some of them stayed behind

Inside the Sad Cafe...

By now, most people have heard of the sorrow and grief that the Brownlee family went through with the opening of Interstate 40, bypassing Rt 66 and the hardships that developed to the families who depended on that vehicle traffic… Roxanne Brownlee Travis still resides in the home behind the dinner…

i won a blonde susie on ebay! she came smelling good and clean but in an ugly outfit i had to remove right away. she finally completes my susie collection, although i would like one more black haired susie ;)

her name is penny century, after jaime hernandez's character from the comic love and rockets.

...When sadness comes...even the beauty of a daisy is not charming anymore....

...Wish everybody happyness ... not sad like this daisy...

See you soon...

Woke up in the wrong bed this morning.

It was mine, but it should have been yours, even though mine is more comfortable.

The shower went cold before I was done washing.

And there was crusty tooth paste on the tube.

Front wheel of my bike wobbled all the way to work.

And my cat listens to me better than the person I have lunch with.

Read a zombie story blog after lunch.

Tried to relate to the main character, it didn’t work, she was a single mum.

Should buy cotton ear buds on the way home.

But this new album I got from that guy whose name I never remember has me distracted.

You message me to say we should talk later.

Seeing friends tonight, I lie.

Wish you would try harder, you tell me.

So do I, I respond quietly (in my head).

See you around is not a good way to leave it.

But we do because there is too much stubbornness between us.

I’ll go to sleep in the wrong bed tonight.

It’ll be mine, but it should be yours, even though mine is more comfortable.

Mirinda thought this day would never come. The day she would have to say good-bye to her Gominola sister .... Chicken.

Sniff ...Sniff....

A little fishing trip get-a-way might help Mirinda cope with her sadness. :(

The saddest face I've ever seen on a river barge. It's moored securely but hasn't been free for years. It is gently tilting and declining while wild flowers and moss grow freely on it's old timbers.

This shot and poem are for my sweet friend, Kelly Dilello-Smith who lost her little granddaughter, Molly. Though the shot was taken back in August, it feels right to illustrate the poem and offer my sadness and love:

I will wear rain today

the silvered tears of angels

spilled in sorrow

and wrapped about me like fog

a gray pall of tenderness and loss

my feet sliding through frost-laden grass

of a summer gone too soon

I will listen for the sound

of angel wings

between the rustle of falling

leaves . . .

6 days of >104F fever... today we spent 8 hours in the hospital... none of the tests could even conclude if the illness is bacterial or viral... at least the iv fluids seemed to help enough that we didn't have to stay the night... and her fever is down... she was so sad... she said she felt like a pincushion... she spoke in such a weak whisper... breaks our hearts... & katie was so brave... a stiff upper lip and katie held still while they put in the iv... i am so sad and proud and hopeful that she will get well soon...
