There were two fledgling European Starlings on a log at Magee Marsh, Ohio. There was no evidence of a nearby nest, and no noticeable presence of an adult Starling in the area.

The two fledglings only seemed interested in fighting/challenging each other.

Sad news is that Darcy, my loyal walking companion who encouraged me to go to all sorts of places I had never explored before has Stage 2 Kidney disease. She's been slowing down for a bit, but now we know why. She really has been such a spunky little bounder making friends wherever I go, so much so that I have been frequently recognised because of her. I don't know what I would do without her. Whilst we don't talk to each other she does offer companionship especially when I've felt a little trepidation in lonely places or risky locations.
