This neglected statue was outside a closed up building, owned then or previously by the Catholic Church, in back of Carondelet St. Joseph's Hospital in Tucson, Arizona. The relentless desert sun had clearly had a cumulative effect.
Flowering bush with yellow flowers in Montmartre with the white dome of Sacré-Cœur in the distance. The square consists of a green area extending upwards to the top of the hill in a series of terraces with lawns, flowerbeds, shrubs, and trees.
The park was known until 2004 as Square Willette and was renamed after Louise Michel (1830-1905), a French anarchist who participated in the Paris Commune of 1871 before being deported to New Caledonia.

We didn't have the chance to go inside because it was closed.
Just after we left the place we had a car accident. It wasn't too serious though.

Sacre Coeur Basilica, Paris
The mosaic over the choir, entitled The Triumph of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, is the largest and most important work of art in the church. It was created by Luc-Olivier Merson, H. M. Magne and R. Martin, and was dedicated in 1923. The mosaic is composed of 25,000 enamelled and gilded pieces of ceramic, and covers 475 square meters, making it one of the largest mosaics in the world.
The central figure is Jesus Christ, dressed in white, with open arms offering his heart, decorated with gold. He is joined by his mother, the Virgin Mary, and by the Archangel Michael, the protector of the church and of France. At his feet, kneeling, is Saint Joan of Arc offering him a crown. A figure of Pope Leo XIII offers a globe to Christ, symbolising the world.

Chant:
J'ai vu la source
devenir un fleuve immense, alléluia !
Les fils de Dieu rassemblés
chantaient leur joie d'être sauvés, alléluia !
R/Alléluia, alléluia, alléluia.

Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church
Clifton, Arizona, USA. Once a booming copper mining town but now mostly declining or already in decay and the majority of people and business have moved just up the road to Morenci. The Freeport McMoRan copper mine located in Morenci is one of the largest in the world
Cliff dwellings along the San Francisco and Gila Rivers are evidence of an advanced civilization that existed long before Caesar ruled Rome. Many specimens of pottery and stone implements are still to be found in these ancient dwelling places. In the mid-1500s, both Fray Marcos de Niza and Francisco Vasquez de Coronado passed through the area, following the San Pedro north to the Gila River. Geronimo was born in 1829 near the confluence of Eagle Creek and the San Francisco and Gila Rivers.
In 1856 the first mineral discoveries of the Morenci/Clifton area were found by California volunteers pursuing Apaches, and conflicts between the Apaches and advancing Anglo settlers touched off a 26-year-long war. Mining for gold and silver began in 1864, followed by copper in 1872, and the mine at Morenci quickly grew to become the largest copper producer in North America. Clifton's population ballooned from 600 in 1880 to 5000 by 1910, and it quickly earned its reputation as the wildest of the "Wild West" boomtowns. Neighboring Morenci was swallowed up by an open pit mine in the 1960s, but Clifton was preserved, and today Chase Creek Street is still graced with lovely Victorian-era buildings from the town's halcyon days as the place to quickly make and lose a fortune.
In 1983, Clifton survived two nearly fatal blows, first a nearly three-year-long strike that began on June 30, 1983. Then later that same year, on October 2, 1983, Tropical Storm Octave sent 90,900 cubic feet of water per second into the San Francisco River, which burst its banks, destroying 700 homes and heavily damaging 86 of the town's 126 businesses
I don`t usually edit my photos much, if at all, but decided to have fun playing with this shot for something a little different and because the original was so blah!

Paris, France In 2013, I did a month long French immersion course in Southern France close to Nice. After the course, I spent an extra week in Paris. I was on my own so I planned my own itinery everyday, visiting places I wanted to visit, and spent as much time I would like to spend in each venue, etc. It was great fun, the only inconvenience was eating alone, with no one to "share the bill" :)
